Nope. That was probably Biohazard. I voted for the Widow Moira. Because who knows?

I think Zaya beats everyone else in the attractiveness department! Not just for her luscious, exotic looks,
"Exotic?" You've got to be kidding me. She looks like a white goth chick with collagen lip implants. :tsktsk:
Certainly pretty, yes, but that is to be expected.
Oh. .qolelis, Carmen Cantata is the shopkeeper in the Old Quarter district .. .you know, the one with the fake accent. . .she's awesome.

I didn't like Zaya's voice in the beginning of T2X. It made her sound (deliberately or not) totally clueless. Her voice deepened as the game progressed, though, and I liked it much better at the end of T2X.
I thought she sounded clueless the whole series. Wasn't that the point of the story, that she was manipulated and used right up to the last misison?

I guess... I pictured her to be this naïve young woman who's on her first trip abroad. I think her voice was supposed to reflect that, but as she hardened and learned to be streetsmart and such, her voice deepened to reflect the change. Even if this was true, I still got annoyed everytime I heard her voice.

I have to applaud Wynne's voiceacting though. The quality, the pitch and the intonation was really great.
to really critique it though, yes I'd agree that Zaya sounded clueless especially at the beginning. that's why I also question her backstory. A spice merchant, with a deep affection for her cousin? I found it a bit superficial. I would have liked a little more time taken at the very start to show us maybe a brief scene of her in the markets in her country, or something else and another brief scene or narrative to show why she is so fond of her cousin.
Zaya did seem a bit naive to be taken in as a thief...I mean, she is a spice merchant. She would have dealt with people from all walks of life.
However, if the story at the beginning had implied more obviously that she was a young girl on her first trip outside into the world, maybe it would have been more acceptable for her innocence.
(Oh boy I hope I don't get flamed for this!)

The first movie there does show her in her own land, and with her family. Even says something about her relationship with her cousin, iirc.
But remember, while in her trade she'd probably deal with all sorts of people, this was her FIRST voyage as captain of the ship. Being her first, it indicates she's not only young but this is the first time she's really out, doing this on her own, not being sheltered by father, brother. whatever.
So yeah, she was coming to this strange place for the first time, young, and quite naive (ie, clueless) then got caught up in this thing and manipulated. She wasn't supposed to be world-savvy at first, or even during, I think. SHe sort of picked that up as she went. .as many of us do. I think whoever did her voice did an awesome job. I'd like to hear more of her.

Exactly my point -- Wynne did a great job making Zaya sound naive. Go play "Dyer's Eve" for a different example of Wynne's work:

She's not Han Solo. Kedar was her childhood playmate, then he left for a few years, and now she's out on her own for the first time with the family fortune (a ship and cargo) as her responsibility, and Kedar is the ONLY person she knows in The City. So her eagerness to see him fit, I think.
