Just curious, who started (and when) the whole bow upgrade myth in the Bonehoard? I'v been around awhile and only recently discovered threads on the topic, I thought it was hilarious!

first reference.

I believe that the bow upgrade goes back to the second TTLG run Thief forum, which was opened around the time the game was released. (The first forum was beseen.com (or something) and the second was coded and hosted by Trimfect.)
I have no idea who started it, but it's pretty much as old as T1 itself.

Interesting that an advanced search of the vault for "bow upgrade" ascending by date doesn't even turn up that thread. Digi, is either beseen or Trimfect's forum database available anywhere?

Despite the bow upgrade being a myth and whatnot, there does exist a "bow upgrade" of sorts not from Looking Glass Studios and not in thief originally. If you don't believe me, ask JTR7, he can back me up on this.:)

In Thief 1... the only weapon upgrade is a sword upgrade. Constantine´s sword doesn´t affect your light gem.
Oh, and the only time you "lose" your bow is at the start of "Escape". Actually you only lose the arrows because picking one arrow will make the bow availiable, if memory serves.
And in Thief 3 your bow... get´s some extra powers. It will be upgraded by the Hammerites/Pagans so it can be used to kill rustmites, etc

Right, but the point is, (at least what I think people are talking about) it's still a myth in terms of it being in the Bonehoard and existing in the game.....
