Randomly got a free copy of it today on Steam. I doubt anyone here hasn't actually played it yet, but if you want it, I'll trade it for something off my (

I have it already, but thanks! I'm sure someone here needs it.

Did you pre-order Bioshock Infinite? If so, that's why it showed up.

Indeed he has.
When I saw last night that BS:I preorder bonus #3 is XCOM:Enemy Unknown I almost got tempted to pre-order it myself, despite having little interest in it.

I have no interest either and I want it anyway. PREORDER IT

Has Colonial Marines taught you nothing?

My friend and her husband bought me the game a couple months ago, so no.
And anyway... you know, BSI looks top-shelf, and I trust it to be nothing but top-shelf. ACM had me going "ehhhh" pretty much since they started up their hype train a little while ago.
Dishonored? Preordered.
Metal Gear Revengeance? Preordered.
All three Stalker games? Preordered.
Fallout New Vegas? Preordered.
Fallout 3? Preordered twice (second time was GOTY edition, which would've cost the same as all 5 DLC separately, actually a little less as I recall.)
Etrian Odyssey 4? Preordered. (Less than ten days 'til it's mine! And I'm definitely sticking with it -- these things go out of print fast.)
Torchlight 2? Not only did I preorder, but I got 3 other people to chip in for the 4-pack!
Meanwhile, Aliens CM went from "instant preorder" to "bargain bin" about 6 months ago. And it went from there to "not even gonna torrent" a couple weeks ago. I don't preorder games I think are going to be mediocre.

Yeah, I preorder a game or two a year too (it just works budgetary wise for me - get paid fortnightly as well as the fluctuating costs of 2 kids) and I've never been disappointed. When you've been playing games for as long as we have, giving them as much attention as we do, it's not so difficult to gauge whether or not to preorder. I'll be waiting for the reviews for Bioshock: Infinite, however, because while the setting and story look interesting, the trailers did very much look like combat overkill. I'd say it's almost certainly going to get good reviews but I'll be reading for how pacing and quiet moments are handled, and if there is anything outside of the usual chaotic combat.

If BS:I pre-order reaches including XCom (which I have every intention of playing some day) I'll pre-order it. 'Course, if enough people are thinking the same thing, it won't reach that level even though it could've, but I'm not too concerned. Who knows when I'll get around to playing either game, what with my 4-month-old rolling around my house.
SubJeff on 26/2/2013 at 22:52
Why don't you just get XCom on its own?
