Did anyone figure out what the guy that says "Who will help the widow's son?" is in the free clinic for?

It's a reference of some sort to...er....something. I can't remember; it was mentioned a while ago in here. Somebody around here knows, I'm sure of it! You can't really do anything with him.

He's in the clinic to avoid the fighting in the streets, just like everybody else, or so I always thought.
"Who will help the widow's son" is from masonic ritual. He probably hoped that JC was a Freemason, too.

"who will help the poor widow's son" is the standard call of distress from one mason to another.
i practically shit myself when i found that out ... the level of detail and research put into this game is PHENOMENAL. every conspiracy theory in the game already exists and is believed by someone ... even the name "Majestic 12" refers to a supposed group of 12 individuals in the united states.
any real-life conspiracy theorists out there care to shed some more light on this game? what else is in here?

If you're interested in this sort of thing, check out the following:
The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson. A comedy, a spoof, but with some historically accurate info. Also see the Historical Illuminatus Chronicles by Robert Anton Wilson.
Holy Blood, Holy Grail - deals with a specific area in France and the alledged "fact" that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and had a son (hence the Masonic phrase - "who will help the poor widow's son"). Also deals with the Knight's Templar.
There are several others that I've read, but in the end there's so much BS that it became comical. But enjoyable.

hmm, i thought it refered to somewhere in the new testament...
Luke 7:11-15
anyway, it's not important. the illuminati is /are also well-known ... just wondering how much of this game is based on "real" stuff.

Nearly all of Deus Ex is based on existing conspiracy theories although they expanded the role of Majestic 12 to become a rival to the Illuminati. The "actual" Majestic 12 papers only deal w/the military's cover up of Alien activity and their research and use of alien technology.

"Will you help the Widow's Son?" was a Masonic phrase for "Will you help a fellow Mason?"
You might have heard the phrase used by Christopher Plummer in the movie, "The Man Who Would Be King?"
It's quite well known now, so no doubt they use others now.
