As the title implies, I got busy and forgot to post my traditional annual DotD thread. Well, you know what they say, better late than never. :D
And in Death's case....it can be as late as it wants, oh yes!
Day of the Dead, in short, is a celebration of remembrance of those that have passed beyond the veil. To remember them fondly as well as honoring them by making offerings, usually by an altar, or leaving offerings like gifts/foods and whatnot at the loved one's grave site. This is a very summarized version of what DotD is about, but I think we all get the picture. So, now....on with some lovely DotD themed pics!
First, we begin with some tasty sugar skulls for your enjoyment (just watch the calories, oy!)

Cheers! :)

Definitely my favorite holiday, and I wish I was somewhere that actually celebrated it.

Long live Day of the Dead...
I've found that dead people I've known visit me in my dreams. I've seen them with my own imagination! :o
Sometimes it makes me laugh. Sometimes it makes me cry.

Happy DoTD to you Ducky. :) Man that bread looks like a pile of lava, and its glowing. I'll eat it regardless. The cemetery shot is so cool, I'd love to do that.

Happy Day of the Dead!

Felice dia de los Muertos Ducky! This is the greatest way to fight death there is. It reminds me of the New Orleans jazz band funeral processions. Do folks give speeches about the departed and pour out a 40? Anyway it is way cool and I'ld love to see it sometime but isn't it kind of an intrusion for those with departed to have rude gringos about?
