Nobody said it MATTERED what I said, now did they young brute? Like I said, maybe you'll start off as JC(Male), but then you change down the line. I don't know how they're going to pull it off, but I don't think Harvey Smith would allow a major design flaw to ruin the immersiveness of the game. In my eyes, as a game designer, this would be a major design flaw that would detract/ruin the immersiveness of a game for the gamer.
I was just giving my two cents as everyone else does in every other thread it.

This puzzling me -- if you have a female character, how can you play as JC again?
I'm thinking they might go for two interconnecting storylines (with their variations based on how you play the game.) Maybe if you're a woman than you meet JC in the game and maybe he fights with you. Same with the other way.
Personally -- <SPAN STYLE="background-color:#000080; color:#000080">I think that the ending will be the "We'll all live in little huts" ending. The Helios ending would be too narrow (how i'm seeing it), you would be a god and that isn't all *that* fun. Similar story with Illuminati ending, you would be ruling the world. The little huts is preety open ended - and judging from the concept art in the PCGamer article about the religious sect, "The Order", it seems like an end of the world cult or something.</SPAN>

Absolutely. Not being able to choose the protagonist's gender was a big disapointment for me.
I always play females when I get the choice, it increases the illusion of being a fictional character. :p

So we've been told that we will play JC, but we don't know that it is the same JC that we played in DX1. Seeing as JC is vat grown, maybe the player could play a new clone of JC, which would explain how you can pick your gender.

Anyway, for what it's worth, it seems pretty pointless to me to carry augs, skills, etc across from DX1. Building the character up from scratch is part of the fun.

easy solution:
you, either Alex Denton or (Lady name here) Denton
will be working for the illuminatti as their private assissins you will recive messages from everett, helios, your director of the less glorified place of the illuminatti(the assassin branch) Mr. J.C. Denton you will get orders from him like in unatco with maderley and will be doing random missions at first but then will be fighting a larger power some undergound destruction force you will also see some of J.C. fighting maybe Paul Denton and whoever you didn't choose. they may get into trouble and need rescuing or just change your objectives and provide valuable clues to who is after the illuminatti. expect to see the X51 gang, everyone i have said, jock, tong, and all of those other people we all know and love
p.s. i do not believe that J.C. will be evil because of the he acted before when you were him he like his brother cares about the people he protects which i think will keep him from evil. although he is working for the illuminatti, who knows?
any way that just is my thought on the situation i do not know for sure but that would be cool
