I dig some of the opinions posters in these forums have, and I need more intelligent gamers to follow. I'm pretty much a Tweeting fool (strictly gaming of course). Anyway...
In this thread we post our twitter accounts so we can geek out:

No one cares? I think there are several million people who would readily disagree with you. ;)
And in regards to starting a blog, you mean like this one?

I'm sorry, I guess that you don't lurk often to know about our quirks and inside jokes. To the point, a lack of punctuation + all lower case = sarcasm around here.
To be serious though, I find the concept of Twitter to be redundant, lazy and banal. Ditto for all Web 2.0 social networking sites in general really.
I have profiles with Steam Community, Xfire, XBL/GfWL, PSN that track the games which I play and I find those to be more than enough. Why? A. because they're married to certain games and can't be separated from the experience (they can be ignored, but I generally chose not to.) and B. for my own interests, not really for sharing with others. Eg Xfire tells me how many total hours I've spent playing a particular game.
The Xfire app is very useful for its overlay features, which I use regularly. In-game IM meta-client, browser, a VoIP solution, capturing screens/video and facilities for seamlessly uploading them to the web.
Ditto for Steam. If I see a dude on my Steam friend's list I may chat with him/her to perhaps organise some co-op matches or whatever. Or provide a VoIP solution for games which lack them or where it doesn't work properly.

It's a fair point, but for me Steam and several of those other services arnt on my iPhone. Twitter is a nice and easy (as in, user friendly) news aggregator for me. I following roughly 120 people and only two of them are friends (in real life). The rest ar journalist, commedians and musicians (with a few news sites). Its basically an RSS feed.
I could see why some people arnt interested in it though, but I can also (after using it) see why it's fairly useful.

This really belongs in CommChat where it can be ignored and/or mocked like God intended.
