Facing and overcoming your fear is what makes horror games so rewarding.

I was terrified of zombies early on in my Thief career, so I would just skip any undead levels. I finally decided to get over it by over-exposing myself, by standing on a table in front of a horde of zombies and engaging them in a staring contest until I got used to them. It worked, and now undead levels are my favorite type!

Being strongly in favor of survival, as is Garrett, I avoid the beasties by a careful reccon of every area I enter, and make sure my back is not exposed.
Sneaky and peeky is my game. Haunts, Zombies, Spectres and such are noisy enough that they can be avoided with relative ease. You can even walk down a hallway behind them un-noticed, if you exercise patience, silence and alertness. :)

I used to be freaked out by undead too, until I played the FM 'A Brawl in the Tombs.' It was then I realized how much fun they could be!

But you're allowed to take small doses of coffee in between.
That mission is freaky.
