Seems extremely good and lifelike for when the game was made (1998)

Do you want people to complain? Why start a new thread? People complain about everything, especially if they want a reality simulation and think the AI are supposed to be just like people, not puzzle pieces in motion.

Some even try to shout out their opinion in every possible place. :p

I've actually been impressed with it. A wile back, I was playing some T1 FM. I had broken into a building through a window and a guard saw me do it. He went to the window and I taunted him, knowing he couldn't crouch through the window. Then he came *ALL* the way around the perimeter of the building and went in through the front door just to get me. That was awesome.

I don't think they're complaining about the AI itself, but how predictable their behavior has become over time. There wasn't much randomness built into them or checks for some common exploits like circle-strafing or coming up from their back or side. If some of those issues got addressed, it might make the game a little more lively because you couldn't trust the old exploits as well (which is a good thing because you'd have to rely on straight sneaking more, and fighting would be harder).
