I played TDS first and I like it a lot. I too would like a whole city to explore, find secrets, scale walls, explore rooftops, find secret passages etc and all done in my own leisurely pace. Maybe in the future. I liked TDS because of the 3rd person view. I came to Thief after playing Splinter Cell, and Thief DS has almost as good a camera as SC. I also think that such a brilliant and charismatic character like Garrett ( AKA Gazza to me) should be seen plying his trade, and watching his little pecularities. I like both views, but stick to the 3rd person.

Hi,
I am an old fan of Thief since the beginning, and have played T1 and T2 three times each for the last 5 years.
But as soon as I finished TDS I knew I would not play it again (at least for years). Why? The answer is obvious for me: because I am not going to discover ANY new places, ANY secret doors because to finish a mission, every place has to be visited and ther is NO bonus. Remember the T2 "rooftop" mission ("life of the party" if I remember) and how many useless (and therefore enjoyable and replayable) places ?
Nothing of the kind in TDS, I ams sure if we compare our styles for completing a mission, there would not be a lot of difference.
I want FREEDOM !!!!:laff:

I've tried to start a couple of times but it felt like scraping the skin with sandpaper. But I will eventually force myself to play it again, I will. Just give me some more time. Must ... play ... Deadly ... Shadows ...

Hi,
I am a fan of TDS since the beginning, and have played T1 and T2 once...:)
As soon as I finished TDS I knew I would play it again. And I did. :p And it was fun just the same. Yesterday I've began TG for the second time. It was fun as well. Yes, at some point - even more fun.
And I childlishly hope that one day all this T1/2 and TDS opposition finally stops and we'll start considering Thief series as a whole, finally.... I've realised they're too different to be compared, but they make one very special trilogy no one I believe has regrets of playing....

agreed. it's all just parts of a whole.

lol no, time has not tempered this opinion. TDS is a sorry excuse for a thief game

Ok, it had its flaws - sluggish movement, garrett cant swim, no rope arrows - but it was a GOOD game, albeit not quite on par with its predecessors.
SO, stop whining and accept what has passed.
That is all.

Indeed. If you look at the story of TDS in general, they took a brilliant move. There are many (too many) little things that are disappointing in this game, but still it's a great one.

Guys, you might want to take note that this idiot just dredged up a three-year-old thread.
