I nested a new object type under Object>physical>Decorative, I hit add and named it SupportBeams which I made it immobile and have a control so it doesn't fall through the ground. The dwSupportBeam01 under it ads the model shape.

http://i.imgur.com/ciRoKFn.pngI looked at a table under same light and it looks good. I looked at it's properties going all the way back to "physical" and I see no attribute that could be causing it. The texture on brush above support beam is the same texture .png.
Oddly another object I made nested under roofs in hierarchy, lights like normal, and it's texture is actually darker than the beam. ??? so confused, what am I missing?

http://i.imgur.com/dGiCe4N.pngI rendered the bin again and it's not changed.
Trying bin of roof object in a concrete instance of beam to see if it lights right. Wtf it lights well. I wonder now if it's because the beam is flat faced...

First, the possessive form of "it" is "its", not "it's".
Second, if this beam object uses single polygons for the entire height of the beam sides, then the beam center will be lit with the average value of the light reaching the beam ends. That's how vertex lighting works. If the ends are in darkness, then the entire model will be dark.
Did you seriously not try placing the beam object in other, different lighting situations before starting this thread? Y'know, put it in a well-lit room, or under multiple light sources, or try changing its angle or relative position to the single light source? You might have learned something that way.

Thanks ZB, I will put it to the test. I do have 6 of them in place like that, and jamming lights all around them at different angles did not work. This is why I posted. I didn't know about the end of poly thing you mentioned. It was in its own shadow that whole test.
I know English, was a 4.0 student. But I was flustered and have issues with how things come out when I don't patiently write. (

EDIT: Yep object is fine, it lit once it was tilted out. Also noticed orange torchlight just doesn't show up on brown to begin with. I 300x white hacklight made it look like the brush above it.
THANKS AGAIN!
