I fully grasp it, but you seem to think I'm trying to misapply it to constructive criticism. I'm specifically not including helpful negative feedback as I stated earlier.
The last two times I've seen you invoke it, including this time, has made no damn sense in context, so no, you don't understand it, comma.
Informing a drama queen that they're a drama queen, and should probably stop being a drama queen,
in the thread they started to be a drama queen, is in no sense of the word being a "hater".

A post with someone whining about people being mean just for the sake of being mean COMPLETELY makes sense.
If he's misinterpreting it, which he probably is based on his reactions here, then that's his own damn problem and it's not relevant.
From MY OWN DAMN POST:
Quote:
Ignore hating, pick out any constructive criticism, and keep doing what you need to do.
Complaining about me not making sense "in context" is particularly ironic given that you couldn't even be bothered to read the post you're bitching about it.
Make sure that YOU grasp the context before you start bitching about other people not grasping context.

Why do you constantly sound like you're regurgitating junior college soapbox rhetoric and idioms?

One source of frustration in online communication is that it's usually asynchronous. When writing a post you already know that you won't get an immediate reply. You will have to wait.
At that point people often start presupposing the negative reactions they anticipate from others and then react to these nonexistent statements until they end up in a self-amplifying aggression loop, a kind of shadow fight.

So it's the inherent repercussions of an increasingly erratic instant gratification society that is causing the discombobulations.
(My community college instructor would be so proud. Three-years, bitches! ...then I dropped out.)

I think you nailed it well. I like that analogy. Shadow boxing. Arguing by writing on the bathroom wall.
And then one posts a retort, expecting a nasty reply in turn. Days may pass and nothing… This can piss someone off even more. "Reply dammit! I just said something and you need to be schooled!" And then the reply comes. And it is everything feared and more. So the hole is dug deeper.
Been there and done that too many times, even fairly recently. It usually involves beer and/or vodka. For others it may be simple rage or immaturity. Whatever the cause, I am trying not to contribute to it much. It is usually non-productive and just gets blood pressure soaring. :cheeky:

Honestly? Because I feel like It's pointless trying to try to have any discussion more advanced than that with people who can't even be bothered to understand what they're pissed off about.
That entire back and forth could have been avoided entirely if he'd read the entire post instead of just going off half cocked because he saw a picture that, for some reason completely incomprehensible to human beings with a functioning brain everywhere, hurt his precious little snowflake feelings.

If you think ZB's 'feelings' were 'hurt' by you posting a barely-relevant image in this discussion that he anal-retentivised you on, you haven't a clue how this place works yet, and should post far, far less.
