LGS creating Thief, Richard Garriott creating Ultima, and Warren Spector creating Deus Ex are not the same I'm afraid...
Warren Spector did not code anything, he did not program anything, he is/was a "visionary".
So, when you say that Warren Spector "created" Deus Ex, maybe you should explain exactly what that means...
And also, I liked Warren for most of his career, up until he lied to the Thief fans.

Warren Spector is a game designer, coding isn't part of his job description. It is fairly common for game designers to come from a programming background, but it's not a prerequisite for the position or for being good at it. Also, while I respect that we all have our preferences, certainly, let's try not getting to downplaying Deus Ex as a videogaming milestone in its own right.
