Enjoyable mission but for the silly high loot requirement on expert.
I had actually gone down the passage with the haunt and killed him because I didn't have the required loot to finish. As I said about another recent mission, when you've been playing Thief for a decade, loot hunts become very boring. If some people want to hunt for every bit of loot, fine, but I find it annoying to be required to find 97% of the loot to finish a mission that I've otherwise enjoyed immensely.
Sort of ghosted this one. Didn't knock anyone out, but I had to alert a couple people with noisy broadheads to get them to look the other way. Elsewhere, I've never seen a bank that had so many piles of coins just sitting around, and in the readables I thought I detected some dislike toward the banking industry... and there's certainly nothing wrong with disliking the banking industry these days!
Finally, I liked using an old original mission for some new tricks. If an enterprising author wanted to do something with Return to the Cathedral, or the Shalebridge police station (forgot the name), or the pagan woods in Trail of Blood, that would be fine with me.

Thankyou RonnieAlme, I am glad you enjoyed, and I understand about the loot requirements, and I haven't asked anyone in exception to beta testers. Did you have any problem:Finding and using the Master Shutoff Switch for the Alarm Objective on "Garrett Difficulty"?
Thankyou also for enjoying a revamped OM, as I find them useful when I come up with a continuing story line. It is fun to play with Continuity in Story and Game Play.
For now on in my FMs I will use a Loot Goal Option, and then it wont be necessary to get much on "expert difficulty" to satisfy the Objective. This leaves alot more time to focus on critical objectives in Game Play.
Thanks for your input Ronnie!:thumb:

Finding and using the Master Shutoff Switch for the Alarm Objective on "Garrett Difficulty"?No, should I have?
I had vague memories - perhaps incorrect - of the security office being on the 3rd floor, so I went there pretty early (though I didn't use the easily opened window grate on the 3rd floor). I started by slipping down from the roof onto the back porch, into the room with the air duct hatch in the floor.
Thanks for your input. You did great, and I would say you are an advanced player according to your methods mentioned. Thanks again!:)

Yep, I very seldom find a need to take out a guard, unless he just gets in the way too often. I like sneaking about using moss arrows and quiet surfaces.
It is fun to watch and listen to the guards ect, as they really make a game worth playing. They are always bringing up joking remarks that even after 10 years of playing still kills me sometimes.:laff:

very nice adaptation, I liked the spider on the roof, the fight made me wish I'd brought popcorn :cheeky: the survivors were a bit twitchy for a while afterwards but I let them settle down and then sent them byebye
finished 4 short of maximum loot i did think the requirement was a little high I reckon 1/2, 2/3 & 3/4 of total are usually pretty good for loot goals
ooo and I did spot a wardrobe the wrong way round in the presidents estate you might want to fix sometime
apart from those exceedingly minor details it was excellent:thumb:
...and that was supposed to be you down the tunnel to the lair was it ? sorry mate you ate a couple of fire arrows :ebil:

Thankyou Esme, and yes the Loot Goal on "Garrett" difficulty is a little high alright. Next fm, I plan on Goal variables that wont require the 75% of the loot total. I agree that for the more experienced players, hunting down lots of loot is a drag.
So you liked egor,SpidyBoy is his more meek name. egor is his name when the Thieves were messing with his Lair( The old air vent)
I am also glad you fired me up in the end, as I like fire better than bright light,
although I would prefer being killed by a "Holy Sword", but I didn't incorporate one in this fm, aka "The DeadMaker".:joke:
Okay, I didn't know about the WardRobe being the wrong direction, but I am pretty backwards anyway:laff:
Glad you enjoyed it Esme, and there will be plenty of Evil to destroy in "Dark is the Lair" ( a Place which is inherited by Evil):ebil:
