Did you? Once you retrieved the crumpled letter from under the statue, read it? A new objective should appear. " Find the book of Treasures before the roof top thieves do" Now once you are in the old vent and just out of the vent, turn 180 degrees, and look into the safety deposit box. You will see it. Then, Read it, and you will get another new objective. You have a ways to go yet. Once you have the Treasure Book, leave the Vault thru the Vent to the roof again, and head South East, and jump up between the Otagonal Roof and the wall to your left, and you will come to a Barred Window. You can use this as a short cut to aquire the Golden Treasure Key. It is mentioned in the WalkThrough. I placed the Window Portcullis here, so the security room could be accessed from the rooftop to shut off the Master Alarm System in the Bank.
Just a note to anyone playing under Windows Vista. It has been throughly beta tested using GarrettLoader and the Objectives will not work right. DarkLoader 4.3 showed 100% success playing with Windows Vista.

I did read the crumpled note found in the President's office, but the objective of finding the book still didn't appear. I did find the book thankfully it was right under my nose and I didn't have to go through all the safety deposit boxes. However, once I did find the treasure key then new objectives have started to appear.

That's probably my problem. I using GarrettLoader under Vista.

the Bank Presidents Window can no longer be broken by Steamy the Robot,
incase the unsuspecting Taffer walks on the Pressure Plate! :laff:Good idea. When I wandered around in the President's room, I suddenly wondered why lights went on and such. Old Steamy wasn't anywhere near (in fact, I don't even know whether he was still functional at that time, since I paid him a visit sometime, which proved to be fatal for him.:ebil:), but you never know that until it's too late...

I wonder how many
Players were able to solve my simple riddle/puzzle and open the Vault without peaking in this thread?
If anyone was able to solve the Puzzle/Riddle for the Combination, please feel free to leave a post on how you did it:thumb:
Well, I solved it without thinking about it too much, mainly because I found a couple of relevant readables on the subject.
From these readables I guessed right about the second number, thought a bit more about the third and fourth and was already determined to just try out all possible combinations for the first one when suddenly, I had a faint idea on it as well. Turned out I was right, then.
It was a nice mission, I just had some problems triggering one or two important events needed for progress. And I overlooked the door to
the part of the basement where the President ended up and the wax machine was located, but I found the solution here.
Oh, and about this haunt... well, he didn't take three overhead slashes with the sword too well, I'm afraid. Too bad the guards were almost completely unconscious at that time, or I would have tried to set up a little "meeting"...:ebil:
Looking forward to the next installment in this series...

Glad you enjoyed it! Glad also, that the Puzzle wasn't too difficult.:)
You are the first to post on it, I think. You sound like you are a well seasoned player. Long Live Thief!
Dark is the Lair is in progress still, and it may be awhile yet, as I am trying to implement "Symbols" versus Readables. Similar to Glyphs. It will be the largest map I have ever attempted, and so far it is proceeding well. Dromed can certainly turn on the editor near the last leg of the task though:sly:
If this new FM turns out like I think it might, There should be a way for the player to choose what he/she wants to experience, but it will be tricky:joke:
Thanks again for playing!:thumb:

I can't believe I've almost finished all the objectives, only to get stuck on the wax impression, and the fact that I went through the whole mission without stumbling into the ARMORY only after consulting this thread! Now I'll have to start over with a different strategy!
Excellent concept, darthsLair, expanding on an OM, and flawlessy at that!

It is easy to get messed up in the Bank, as it is huge, and confusing. I had to implement the Auto Maps, and yet it is still massive. Alot of sq.footage to cover.:p
Thanks for playing:thumb:
