If I can't use 1680x1050/1440x900/1280x800, then it's 1280x960. Fuck 1280x1024, 5:4 is even narrower than 4:3.

I like the 1280x800 on my TFT laptop, though I still use 1280x960 on my 19" CRT.

I don't think I'll ever use widescreen for a while. I plan to live on old CRTs until I can't find 'em anymore. I fucking loathe LCD.

I agree, the only reason I have an LCD is that it is my notebook's monitor. have yet to even consider changing over on the desktop side.

I switched to a 22" widescreen 16:10 monitor last year, and I don't regret it.

New laptop comes with a 16:10 screen, and after many torturous hours I managed to get Thief and System Shock working in widescreen and it's pretty cool.
But the Xbox has been in widescreen all along, and I'd probably have trouble going back. Widescreen aspects seem to allow for more artistic framing.
