The Keepers' books have gone blank but that only seems to be a temporary lose if you ask me. Surely there's another way for them to regain their information. Also, I think this symbol the opening of a new age for the Keepers, not their end; cataloging history's new course (if this is indeed the end Garrett may possibly lead them, but that's a bit of a stretch).

When you've got a few hundred blank books on your hands and you're suddenly out of a job, going into business as a scribe might make sense.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if a few ex-Keepers turned to thievery to support themselves. I've been planning an FM based around a premise like that, actually, but I don't know how doable it would be for me.

I still like my idea that the t3 ending was a Cradle induced hallucination and a thief/keeper acolyte from Blackbrook goes into the City to find Garrett only to find that the Cradle was destroyed but exists on a seperate plane of existance. The reason this acolyte goes to find Garrett is this person was approached/visited by a ghost who was a close personal friend to Inspector Drept (who had a nice reunion with his lost friend while Garrett was gone).

Well, Garrett never leaves the Cradle but releases Laurel (only the messenger & doesn't play a big role) who still doesn't have her form back. In her quest to regain her form she finds the acolyte. The acolyte then goes to the City & runs into the former Keepers who were nearly eradicated by the Hag. They now live in the outskirts of the City to form a new group because the Keeper way of life is no longer relevant.
The prophesy remains unfulfilled and in order to fulfill it the former Keepers (those who still believe in the prophesies) need to find Garrett but they find someone else who can help them, the acolyte.
Anyway, a lot can happen while Garrett's a puppet in the Cradle & with my version of things the end of Thief 3 (after the Cradle) was only a hallucination.

Hey....why not??? There's T2X now, right? (Of course, Garrett wasn't in that one, and a hammer was used instead of the blackjack.......) (Okay, so I had an issue with the hammer-thing ....... so what!!?) I'd LOVE to see a T4, but have to agree - - - none of this modern b.s. More like T2! (Okay; and T1 .... hey.......we could bring Viktoria back and she and Garrett could get married and have little taffers and ................ sorry, got carried away..........)
