Wow.
Perhaps something like, "ANSWER MY QUESTION OR SHUT THE HELL UP."
Have a nice day.
That is too rude, even for me.

At the risk of talking out of turn, it does seem a little strange to suggest that he doesnt know about eBay and the like, especially when he put forth the information that he indeed has 300 to 400 games he is using as currency to trade with...

To expand a little bit. I learned to tie my own shoes and ask exactly the question I need an answer for before most of you were born.
I also started searching the Inet in 1980's via THE WELL in Sausalito, one of the first internet webs. So I really do know what I want to ask and where to look if I need an answer. (

Thanks for the hints, but when I do ask a question it means exactly what is posted. If I want options then the post will say so.

I don't think there was any intent to suggest TBM was stupid, or didn't know how to use Ebay. I don't see "Hey, in case you don't know how to use Ebay you dummy" up there. It was a simple attempt to offer an alternative, to be helpful....a just in case.
I admire TBM for being one of our longtime community members, but I truly found that response was not called for at all.
Maybe things were different before I was born, but my upbringing would lead me to either not acknowledge the post if it irked me, or simply say, "thank you, but I'm only interesting in trading". Nothing is gained in belittling someone and making them feel like they're idiots when they were only trying to be of help.
It's way too easy to be negative and react in a harsh manner.

I agree that it *was* pretty gruff, and he *did* use the "mad" emoticon. But, I have already spoken out of turn and shall therefore take my leave of this thread.

You're talking out of turn again, GMD!!
...but you're still keen. :thumb:
And a dumb question at this point, did you get any takers, Blackman? I have a copy of Doom3 that I may be interested in trading out for an original Manhunt (if you have it).

To an extent I agree. I could have been gentler.
But, as happens too often the questions asked by posters, new and old are not answered. But played with or handled with a digression that avoids or belittles the question.
So I said what I thought. Straight from the shoulder and to the point.

I hope this deal works-out.
It'll be good to see your presence in The Dark Mod FM threads theBlackman.
I haven't checked for another thread there but Gen Gaming might be a better place to post this request as I think that many of the Thief fans here are pending the acquisition of Doom 3 for TDM as well.
I would also post over at Rage3d.com, nvnews.net, and Beyond3D.com.
If you are willing to brave a really rough crowd, quake3world might be a place to try too... :ebil:
