Was checking out some of the other areas of this site. I saw a mission for Thief Gold, "Window Shopping". Well, that wasn't on the game, so was wondering if anyone has any info or knowledge of what this is/was/was going to be way back when.......

Window Shopping is, in fact, the working title for
The Haunted Cathedral. It's a reference to the moment you see and hear The Eye through the window at the back of the cathedral. Engine exploits aside, you can look at the special merchandise but cannot touch.:)
The schema for The Eye's speech still includes the working title, and in the (

Project Diary, too.:

We've got about 80% of our training mission done, with the rest waiting on some AI scripting services for the spotters in the sight and hearing stealth lessons. "Lord Bafford's Mansion" is essentially at the spit-and-polish applying stage. "Breakout at Cragscleft Prison" is undergoing some revision based on our alpha test experiences. And we're pushing hard on "Assassins," "The Forgotten City," and "
Window Shopping." The redoubtable Doug Church is now taking point of final mission design revisions, bringing a fresh perspective and leaving me free to implement gameplay elements (sort of a refreshing role reversal for us, really).

I built levels for T1 and did some of the other various design tasks. I worked a lot on Return to Cathedral, Training, Haunted Cathedral (known internally as "Ruined City" or "Window Shopping"), and Escape. I assisted the development (wrote scripts, fixed bugs, etc.) of many of the other levels, especially Assassins and Sword.
Edit:
jtr7 beat me to it. Oh well...

Oh, but that's okay, 'cause our examples also show two working titles for The Lost City, once known as "Ruined City" or "The Forgotten City". :cheeky:

You sure? I thought they were referring to the old quarter with the Ruined City. At least that's how the dude phrases it.

Ruined City is Window Shopping? Cool.
(Everybody whisper "What the taff?") :p

Glad they changed it, window shopping is a horrible name.:eww: Not that The Haunted Cathedral is necessarily the best name, but it's better than window shopping.:p
