Hi im new to this forum and have had a good scroll about all the other threads concerning T2 and new hardware software.
However i have so far been unable to plat T2 on my system.
My current system comprise's of
AMD PhenomII 940
4Gig DDR2 8500 ram
2x 9800GX2 (currently set up as 4 individual GPU's)
Onboard sound
and various Hdd's
Installing T2 is fine it installs with no problem from here is where i have issue's
ive found and installed patch 1.18
I have tried the Imagcfg faq to set T2 to use only 1 core of the processor.i also tried editing the target line of the shortcut again no joy.
i have evan treid the DDfix route as well and still i am unable to start the game.
when i start it i get a black screen it flickers a few times and then the system tells me Thief 2 has stop working and do i wish to send details to M$ or just close the application.
when trying DDfix i cant use the GUI version as again i get a close error
so i downloaded the manual files and a pre edited T2 exe still i get error's
Just out of curiousity i re installted Thief 3 Deathly shadows and that works srtaight out of the box.
Where am i going wrong from what ive read on the forum T2 should work with Win 7 HELP!!!!!!!!

You've done all the right things to get t2 to work with W7 so far.. but have you checked the following:-
* Check your cam.cfg and ddfix.config so that the resolution is the same - eg. 1024x768 etc.
* Check thew paths are correct in the install.cfg and darkinst.cfg files.

if you have "x64" you can´t use the ddfix patch...only x86....

You can still patch manually, and in fact there was a version released in one of these forum threads that made the GUI patcher work in x64 also.

Hello All,
I have an Asus 1005HAB-BLU001X netbook. The specs are as follows:
Intel Atom 270 (1.6Ghz single)
1GB DDR2 RAM
160GB HDD
10.1" Screen
DirectX 10
I have a couple of questions:
1) I have successfully installed and played Thief TDP with no problems (no modifications needed. Even though the atom is "virtually" a dual core (task manager shows 2 cores and the computer acts like a dual core to balance the load)). As you know, netbooks do not have CD drives. I made a Thief TDP .ISO and transferred to a flash drive and mounted to install. I have kept the ISO mounted to play Thief. Is there anyway to create a No CD Fix? I'd rather not keep the ISO mounted on my computer, because it will slow down my computer (even if it is minuscule).
2) I have yet to make an ISO of Thief TMA because I'm curious to know if I will run into problems with DirectX 10 and/or the "2 cores" in my computer. I'd tend to think since the atom is really a single core that I won't run into problems, but I'm not 100% sure. Is there a No CD Fix for this as well?
Thanks,

If Thief TDP works, Thief TMA should work also.
As for No-CD patches, we don't discuss that on this forum, sorry.

@mudi:
Thanks, I figured TMA would work since TDP did, but wasn't sure and didn't want to go through the effort just to find it not work.
Thanks,

T2 runs for me with Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I've even got in-game videos, which I can't ever remember seeing with Vista because you had to purchase the IV5 codec that was removed from the OS - I assume it has been licensed for W7 (purely a guess).
One BIG thing to note, though, is that because I'm looking into the fog issue I'm using my own build of Timeslip's ddfix dll. My dll is built into my T2 folder as ddraw.dll and not ddfix.dll.
Remember to set up your video resolution in both ddfix.ini and cam.cfg.
