I bet those screens are from what they call their "target renderer", though. The first two pics looks like they have like 32x Anti-aliasing ;)
Cool video, also from their target renderer (not how it will actually look but what they try to achieve): (

Looking forward to this, didn't like the PC version much because of the horrible combat.

That's rather sad. I was looking forward to a fully realised Witcher on the consoles, and this seemed like it was going well for a while until those recent internet rumblings. It's such an unfortunate turn of events for all concerned.
Guess I'll have to try out the game on the PC after I upgrade instead.

That's a real shame, because it's a game that deserves to be played by as many people as possible.

I have a STRONG feeling we are going to be hearing more and more of these stories in the near future, what w/the US economy in the fucking toilet and all. Sucks.

OK, but the economy didn't have anything to do with
this cancellation.

The economic problems have made it very difficult to get money for risky things like game development. If they had been able to get finance more easily they may have persevered with the port despite the apparent quality issues and missed deadlines. Apparently they had three titles going simultaneously (with the second also being suspended/ canned, leaving the official sequel) and it was a case of ambition outstripping wallet at the precise time the credit card company decided to drop their limit.
It probably doesn't help that their current publisher, Atari, isn't exactly swimming in dough either.
