Woe unto me, brethren, for I am undone... - by Herr_Garrett

OK, a really cheesy story, but I thought I'd share...
At the university I've got this sort of "acquintance", who's a Satanist. Don't ask me why, or how, but he's painted a pentagram upon the back of his black leather jacket with tempera and reads the Black Bible on the underground, and proclaims himself to be a Satanist (as if this would make him into one). Anyhow. I started talking with him about this stuff, and him being pretty ignorant, I told him that I'm a Hammerite... Yes, he believed me. He actually started asking me about its history and tenets and whatnot, so I made up some stuff, and when he asked about the regulations, I quoted some of the basic Hammerite texts...:D
But then he entreated me to recite a prayer of theirs, and I was about to start the Prayer of the Wallbuilder, when I had a blackout... I couldn't remember anything, not even the Prayer of Consecration or the smallest fragment of any chant, anything...
So he eventually worked out that I was mock-teasing him, and left me, muttering.
Brethren, I lost our first convert. Is there redemption for such a sin? Could the Master Builder forgive me?

Builder be praised, we nearly had another!

When in doubt, burst out into song and dance.
Smelt baby smelt,
Builder inferno.

great story!
The main hammerite line I remember from time to time is "Vigilance is our shield, which protects us from a squalid past. Knowledge it our weapon, from which we carve an enlightened future" (or something like that)

I would have gone for "Hammer, anvil, forge and fire, chase away the hoofed liar...". It's the only one I can remember. :)

I do know them, otherwise, but I had a blackout. It might have been caused by the Advanced Syntax lesson I had before...:cheeky:

Thou shouldst smite him with thine hammer ere he tells his foul friends about thine weakness.

Yea, Brother, crush the faulty gear, and re-smelt it to remove its impurities! So decreeth the Builder, and so it shall be, lest thou damnst thine own soul! Go, Brother, with Hammer in hand and steely resolve in mind, and endeth this heresy before it doth have a chance to spread!

Nay! Firstly, penitence! Secondly, thou must seek The Builder's mercy! Twenty lashes, for ye wast unprepared for the Tricksie one. Ye must throw thyself into thine work and rebuild His favor as ye preparest thine fortifications of heart, mind, and soul. Meditate upon the Master Builder's words. As ye knowest the burn and sting of each lash, knowest ye that the fire forges thee anew, for certes, ye shalt be tested again.
