I've been working steadily on this now since the 20th, after taking a big break to get other things squared away. If I can, I intend to continue working on it through January. Let's see how far I can get before the need to move and find a job becomes too oppressive. I've been updating the blog regularly, maybe once every two days.
Meanwhile, I've been reading this. Really quite interesting, actually!

Good news everyone!
I just finished the final chapter of COT-R. The first draft of all 24 chapters, all six books, is finished. Each of the six books will be around 200 pages long. All that remains now is final revisions, proofreading, and editing into the final pdf(s) (and getting the cover artwork finished). I may be headhunting the forum for help with all of that, but for now I need a break (and to work on the other three projects I have on the backburners).
Feels good to finish something.
Edit: This page has been updated. (

Well, I wasn't involved in the prior discussion, so I'll just say congrats DN.
I look forward to reading your story when it's 100% finished.:)

Congrats. :)
Indeed it must be a great feeling to finish something.
I'll be sure to read it when it comes out (at least I hope so).

Thanks guys. I don't know how long the proofing process will take, but I'm going to be treating it like an FM beta test. No release until everyone says it's ready!

Things are moving along very well. I just spent the past week and a half doing another complete revision of the story after getting it back from my editor, who covered the thing in notes and suggestions (as well as fixing my grammar).
After I completed the last chapter, I was pretty well sick of looking at it, so I just sent it off to my critics and editor without another glance. As a result, this past week and a half was the first time I actually read the work straight through from start to finish, so naturally I discovered a ton of problems. Thankfully, all of them were fixable without changing too much, and as a result the story is now feeling pretty solid.
Dunno the finish date yet. I've sent the revised draft back to the editor for final proofreading... and then there's the cover art still.
