Great news! I can't wait to read the finished version! :D

I'm so glad you got someone to read it thoroughly, and from start to finish, as well as yourself. A straight read-through is so critical for catching plot-holes and discontinuity.

I'm looking forward to it! I don't think I ever got around to finishing the original though.
Also, if you want some free editors in the future for anything like this, a project I'm involved in that translates Japanese light novels into English (and other languages as well, but I'm not sure how well those are faring in quality or speed) could try going through it. If you want to try and get your novel in German, Spanish, or French, I can ask about it.

That's an interesting proposal, daniel. Taking on the task of proofreading a 1100 page (575 thousand word) novel isn't something to be taken lightly, though! :)

Congrats and well done digi. I know I'm probably late noticing this, but I would be happy to help with the proofing/critic end of things if that door is still open. My roommate is a novelist and I do the same thing for him all the time. I'm far from professional quality, but I have done it before.
Otherwise, I definitely want to read this when it comes out. Thanks for all the time and effort.

Update time, list style.
* The fourth draft should be in my hands by early next month.
* A fifth draft will be needed. It will not take the form of a complete revision, but merely tweaks from the notes from my editor, and I probably won't be submitting these tweaks back to the editor for final review. It should only take a few days to complete.
* From there, the story will be formatted into a 24-chapter serial to be released online over the course of 22 weeks. (The first two chapters will be released together, as will the last two parts.)
* Work on the paperback version will continue as the story is released online. There will be a time lag between the chapters being released online and the final draft of the paperback version finished and available for printing. This is both to allow readers of the online version to point out errors and to give the cover artists time to finish their paintings for all six books. The original COT e-play will also be printed as a paperback to go along with the set, but I am not sure when it will be made available.
* Printing of the paperbacks will be on demand and available from a private site by contacting me directly. It will essentially be ordering a printed and bound document at the cost of ink and paper and shipping. As far as pricing goes, if I am a normal member of createspace the lowest price will be around $8 a book. If I was a paying member, it would cost around $3 a book. (shipping is additional and varies by location, of course) I'd like to be able to get the cost down to $3 but I simply can't budget in a $40 purchase right now. We could go two routes. One, I go ahead and purchase the premium membership out of pocket and add on a dollar to the cost of each book. When I reach $40 I lower the price back down to the cost of ink and paper. The other option is to just go with $8 a copy and accept donations until I have the cash to buy the membership, at which point the price goes down to $3. Which path I take will be up to those interested in ordering the printed copies. (Suggestions from those with no interest in actually ordering will be humored but not taken as seriously.) I won't be accepting personal donations or profit from prints.
* Some day, if this proved popular and enough people request it, I could look into doing a single-volume hardback edition... but only if there seems to be enough interest in that kind of thing.

This sounds interesting!! Love books, but whatever way you release it, I'd like to read it. Keep us posted!! :thumb:

Yikes! We already have a sponsor for the createspace account. Looks like everyone will be getting it for the lowest cost possible from day one. :)

This is pretty exciting Digi. I'm glad your editor came through. I am interested in ordering your books. Congrats man.
