Didn't you guys hear? Achievements are the latest rage!

Achievements are superficial as hell as far as replay value goes.
I mean, so what if you achieve this or that. Most are easy as piss. At least make them all hard so they're actually "achievements".
I guess it's the diablo effect - it ain't pretty, but it works.

I agree with you Jashin. (holy shit)
I was kind of bothered by the placement of achievements in the Orange Box games. Some of them are just downright silly- like the gnome one.
I will say this: I lol'd at the one where you kill a Combine trooper with his own grenade. Specifically, I lol'd at the name: "Hot Potat0wned" :D

BIG NEWS: Blizzard adds more meaningless and trite pseudo-content to a "game" full of meaningless and trite pseudo-content.
Honestly is anyone surprised?

God forbid anyone should have any fun whilst playing a game, eh?

That doesn't even make sense. You're just arguing for the sake of argument. Stop it.

Yeah, 90% of achievements say that you played the game, the other 10% say you played the game and are anal retentive. Having them is hardly a big deal though, and seeing people obsessing over them does provide mild amusement on occasion.

I don't think I ever played a game with achievements in my life... what happened to the good old score/difficulty?
