As a counterpoint to the other active thread, list the games with the worst music that you've encountered.
Mine:-
Quake 2 - Really shitty metal. The tracks don't add much to an already sub-par gaming experience.
Descent 2 (Red Book soundtrack off the game disc) - Oh God, words cannot begin to describe how mindnumbingly bad the collection of "assorted rock" tracks are on the game disc. The new tracks on the "Vertigo Series" expansion pack disc are a bit better, but still utterly dreadful.
Most pro wrestling games by Acclaim/THQ. I used to play these when I was 12-14 on N64 and PS2. Those games typically had the most generic licensed music imaginable.

You're predictable.

You know what else is a sub-par experience? I hope you do since people will frown if I make a yo mama joke.
Only game I can think of is Chrono Cross. Since it's a jRPG you'll spend at least half the playtime battling random enemies, and the random battle theme was just so fucking bad. It's like whoever made the music for CC believed in cosmic balance and since otherwise the soundtrack was very good, (s)he had to make something truly abyssmal next to keep the yin yang rolling.

I cannot stand the you-want-his-cellphone type of rock you hear in so many sports and racing games. Think skater and cool.

Deus Ex
Hexen 2
Vampire Bloodlines (at least the other two work in the game, this one is just flat out terrible)

Cold Reality wasn't so bad, but I agree with you about the other tracks, especially Glut.

I liked the music in-game, especially Santa Monica and Hollywood. :( Fuck the bar music though. I usually replace it with something else- you'd be suprised how well (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYKLVkzY6K4) Dax Riggs fits the Vampire setting. (Excuse the live vid, I can never find studio releases on youtube.)

Hollywood was the best. I get it stuck in my head.
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent is pretty bad, I guess.

Hey Fragony! Take back what you said about the proud genre of you-want-his-cellphone type of rock! It is the best type of music. No other music is nearly as skater and cool.

EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS WRONG.
Now the Wheel of Time game, that had some pretty damn godawful music. Imagine playing Serious Sam with Enya playing in the background. That's how mismatched the WoT score was.
