I hate the Bonehoard. I don't like the whole "Indiana Garrett" theme of the mission.
Especially since it misses a perfect homage. "Undead. Why does it always have to be undead?"

Bonehoard wasn't scary, just annoying. Even on expert.

Casing the joint was... Okay the first time around, mostly because whenever I saw a light facing the wrong way or other little things the designer overlooked, it really ruined the experience. Thief is really good at pulling the player in, and annoying things like that tend to push you out instead.

gameplay-wise I dislike "To-do list missions", with a bunch of go-fetch objectives that seem slotted in to add length to the mission (RTC, Soulforge, The Cradle) although the atmosphere of Return to the Cathedral keeps me coming back (it's the only Thief level I've ever had a nightmare about! :D)
I actually really like Thieves Guild. I love the power Garrett has in that mission - it just shows how far beneath him common thieves are. For the same reason, I love assassins - just the feeling that Garrett could do something like that and get away with it is great fun.

I think that Strange Bedfellows was an ugly mission without atmosphere. Ugly, boring places in the sub basement. And the overlit temple made me an unthiefy feel even in the Undercover version.
then:
S O U L F O R G E
absurdly enormous, boring, difficult and too big to enjoy. You just feel stupid and lost there. Also, every funkin' wall opens by surprise and there comes maybe 3 robots... :P ehh ehh
I HATE SOULFORGE.
btw the thread starter's opinion of Lost City's colors (ugly) is strange, because it was a really nice ancient colored mission. Also, I love the TDP version.
