Here's a massive tip for Courier; follow the letter, not Mosley. Remember, she drops it.

Everybody says they hate the SoulForge, but nobody gets pissed off that the Victoria dies! I mean common.. First of all, it would be cool to have those powers and second, it is a shame that she did that. Garret wasn't going to do anything so she took it into her own hands...

:p
Maybe the reason people aren't pissed...is
because ViKtoria ripped Garrett's eye out, and it was time for her to do something right, for once. Garrett was going to do something, just not follow Viki's plan. Karras wasn't going to have the masked Servants release the Necrotic Mutox that night, but Viktoria tipped him off. Garrett's presence in Soulforge confirmed it. Karras made the decision to bring the Builder's Paradise to The City earlier than he originally intended. That didn't bother Karras, but Garrett was forced to act. If Viktoria hadn't maimed Garrett and left him to die, tangled in the very plants that would feed off his corpse, I think she'd have more sympathy. Her death was noble and a form of redemption.Quote:
I should offer thanks to your departing Trickster woman, for 'twas she that warned me. Before her arrival, I thought the City was blind to The Builder's Paradise I shall soon bring about. Yet 'tis just thee who knows. No matter...for even if all The City knew, still...I could not be stopped.Quote:
Maybe I've waited overmuch. Garrett, thine intrusion has been my cue to begin now the final preparations. May the world be ready for the Builder's arrival! I fear you not, Garrett, but I have dispatched some of the Builder's Children to intercept yooou. Thou too will perish...and trouble me...no more....

Redemption? Her powers were so cool. If she was still alive, she and Garret would of rocked T3. Maybe the Pegans would of been cooler. Actually, I even hated the Pegans because their pad was lame.
I guess I understand the eye ball thing, but I do believe that they could of finished him if they wanted to too...

I don't know, I guess I wish she would of helped Garret kill Karras. Lol, the cut scene with her is pretty much amazing
Btw, Am I suppose to hide some of this? Is it still a spoiler? I will just do it anyways

Being cool's not a reason to live or die. ("It's not?" Heh.) Besides, there may be more like her, somewhere...saplings, but only if she was a fruit-bearing wood nymph, or she's one member of a race of such creatures.
They left him to die and feed the plants. In their minds, he was finished. They admired him, too, but the Keepers point out that the Trickster was jealous. He was too busy working on his Dark Project to think about Garrett much. We don't know what Viki was up to at that time. Larkspur could have gotten word about G's escape. Lotsa speculation.
But yeah, if you want more Viktoria, you'll have to find her in fanfiction.

I am not one of those types of people...
I guess all the good "heros" die right? What would be the coolest thing though would be a fourth theif... Sure people say there can be to many sequels (sp) but I don't think there can be in Thief. I guess the story line pretty much ended with the Third, but I really did like the orientation of the game, with fraction alliances and stuff. A more indepth one would of been cooler, with more buildings and treasure. Like you said though, cooler doesn't always make the game huh...
Bummer, anyways, SoulForge has to be one of my favorite missions to the point. In fact, I don't think I hated a mission. If I did hate a mission or a particular area, I just made it fun and interesting by mixing it up a bit.
I guess I am just a hardcore Thief fan. (Excited though that I found this site because alot of other ones are going down!)
P.S. It does look like posts this site are dying and it might mean the end of theif!?!?!

over the whole series, I'd vote pagan hideout from Thief 3.
first two, its soulforge or strange bedfellows.
For me, strange bedfellows is worse than Maw. Both are more combat oriented and linear than I'd like. However, Maw has surreal, out of this world element that keeps you wondering what strange thing you are going to see next. Bedfellows is just one bland tunnel after another.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think you are speaking of the time in Dark Project right after Garrett gives Constantine the Eye? If so, please keep in mind that at that time they did *not* want Garrett dead as his "sacrifice is not yet complete". No matter how much us hardcore fans have embellished over the years, the truth is that the actual story is very simple and also very limited. Yet, I understand it completely. Hmmm....
They already had his flesh eye, what else could they possibly need?! After all, the quote itself says there was more sacrifice...
Anyone have any foggy ideas?

Simple. His flesh and blood given to the Tricksters lilacs and thistle-aides. The Trickster and his worshippers give their enemies bodies over to the plants. Often.
I'm not embellishing or complicating anything. It's all there, spelled out.:sly:
