Would you be interested in a Thief 3 version of one of Thief 2 missions? - by massimilianogoi

For example, "Shipping & Receiving".

People have been asking for ports from one engine to another for years. There have not been too many objections against recreating a Dark Engine OM in the T3 engine. Most of those objections have been biased because of the myths about the engine. A rebuild from scratch would be the legal way to do it, and yes, it's most welcome. Unfortunately, Shipping... and Receiving is not too popular out of the TMA missions, but it has elements built into it that would be a very good demonstration of possibilities.

Personally, I seen nothing illegal, since all the copyright were absorbed by Eidos. At the maximum, we could e-mail them asking the formal approvation.

I would rather see "The Sword" or RTC from Thief 1 remade. I don't think it would be an issue as long as the developer didn't take textures from the first game. That would be a bad idea anyway, as their resolution probably wouldn't hold up next to the newer assets in TDS.
This sort of thing has been done, and done very well. For example, check out the classic Doom for Doom 3 mod. The environments feel similar, but look generations better. I didn't see any copied textures in use there either.

Mass', it would not be illegal at all if you built it yourself, and didn't port assets over, and building it yourself is what I would expect you to do anyway.;)
How would you do the swimming and oceans, pools, bathtubs, canals, and all that water, though? :wot:

There was some thread about this, but I couldn't run the missions. And I heard that someone split Keeper's training in half for Thief 3 to run it.

Shipping & Receiving is definitely my least favourite Thief mission, and therefore the one that I would most like to see remade.
Go for it.
