Keep in mind, that the NuGarrett character is actually a different person, that exists in an alternate 400 year future...So the original Garrett's age, as it pertains to the classic THIEF Universe, is irrelevant to NuGarrett.

That actually would be an interesting thing to explore. Especially if we get to see what became of Garrett and the little girl at the end of Deadly Shadows, because Erin and Garrett in Thief 4 most certainly do not reflect what would have come of that.
Could also have some amusing moments too of Garrett being a grumpy old man at the younger thieves he encounters.
