Hello! I'm currently making a LP of Thief Gold, hoping to do all 3 but if the views take a dive to almost no views per vid then I'll just finish up one and move onto another game.
Episode 1 - Stealthily Dying (
http://youtu.be/k1DETLKBSUE) http://youtu.be/k1DETLKBSUE
Episode 2 - Guard Taffer (
http://youtu.be/ceyVXplbbcA) http://youtu.be/ceyVXplbbcA
Now I know you all, I'm sure, have played the entire game. But there is no hiding the fact that I would love for you to watch my videos, and giving feedback. But it is no necessity. If you wish for me to not advertise any more then I will gladly stop and carry on to another forum. Don't wish to be to big of a bother, but I would like to get my name out there a bit.
Tips are always welcome :D

If you are doing it for views, you shouldn't be doing it. Do it for fun, do it for the experience, do it because you want to, but don't do it out of reliance on other people. If you have Thiefy videos to share, there's a thread for it, and people will check your vids out or not as they like. Have fun! :joke:
If your vids are entertaining, you will get your name out there, people will find you in searches, recommend you to others, etc.

Write a rough script for the video before you start talking. You ramble a bit and sometimes get incoherent.

I honestly am doing it because I want to, and I will continue to play the other Thief games but if no one wishes to watch this series then I'll play it on my own time and give other content that both I and the viewers enjoy. But there is no question that I'm doing this first and foremost for me. I like making videos (even though I do ramble more then I care to admit, working on that), and if others like watching then that's just an added bonus. I'll play the game whilst talking to myself either way, why not record it? :P

I thought of that, and made a test recording with another game and I just didn't like it. I'm not gunna say I love these either, but I like to think I get better as I continue on (obviously you can't see it, but the next 3 videos have been created, just waiting to publish them at the right time). But the video that I did record with a rough script just didn't seem to be.. Well it didn't sound organic, it sound robotic and scripted. And the sad truth is it just wasn't as fun, and I don't have much to talk about :P I'll try to babble less though :)

The operative here is 'rough' like notes not a full script. If you have never played through that's harder, but comments as you play should be like Garrett's remarks. Something on the order of: "Oh, looks like the entrance is heavily guarded. Wonder if there is another way in?" Or, "Hmmm. If I blackjack this guard, can I get him out of sight before his buddy gets back?"
Things like that would liven the whole thing.

Oh, I get what your saying! Just not "immersion breaking" comments? I'll try it :)
If anyone is interested, the 3rd episode is up: (

I left you a few comments under your first two vids, Pixzule. Mostly minor gameplay tips that you might find interesting. ;) Sans one minor easter egg in the first mission, I kept them spoiler-free, honest. :o :thumb:

Just curious, what are you using for the 'capture' program?

... and would it be possible to record in 720p ? :)
