No one's complaining about Microsoft wanting to offer something new, they're complaining about making all of this mandatory at the expense of the benefits of the current generation machines. I can't believe MS can't offer an optional cloud service, for example... oh wait, they're already doing so on the 360!

Also, that whole thing with the cloud service making for larger gameworlds? Pointless. Any company with the bank to make a game that would actually make use of that would rather go multi-platform anyway.
The Steam comparison falls flat too because let's be real, Valve ain't Microsoft. Their corporate culture, their whole public personality are completely different. That's why people trust Valve more than they do Microsoft.
