Whereas those of us in ShockGen just cry a lot, mostly.

Does anyone have a link to that NMA thread?

So is it worth it to get the whole XCOM pack on Steam, or is it better to save the $5, and just get the first two? How do the others stack up?

Apocalypse is worth a punt; the rest, less so.

Apocalypse wasn't bad until you realized you could do hit and run tactics without coping a single hit while in your space ships back in the alien dimension.
Soon as I discovered that, the game was a complete breeze.
Terror From the Deep is my all time favorite for its difficulty and variance in levels compared to the 1st game. Only downside to it is the fact that you have to KNOW to go and capture a lobsterman technician to proceed in the game after a certain point. Now where can you find Lobstermen technicians? Only at alien bases which don't start appearing till much later on. Very annoying. I spent a VERY longtime on my first play through doing endless ufo, alien base and terror missions before I gave up and read a walk through, which in the days back then before the internet meant off a game cd.
Other than that the games great. It also being the first XCOM game I ever played adds it some extra points as well. And yes when I eventually got XCOM1 that game was a pushover in comparison.
Tried playing the "Ufo Aftermath" series of games much later on and while their ok, their firstly WAY too friggin hard and just don't have that same spark that the XCOM games have.

You'll make a great journalist
And the scary thing is, you're not even being sarcastic :/

But one of my favourite NMA moments is the time they spent 4 pages arguing over what a former FO1 dev meant when he said he liked Fallout 3.
Link?

Thanks, dt.
Hmmm. Zygo, I always thought there was a tiny bit of difference between posting on the internet and true journalism...

Ignore Zygo, he's had some sort of unexplained beef with me for years. At least I have an excuse for giving Fragony et al. shit, I dunno what Zygo's problem is.
