We barely got a look at how complicated it was before they started changing it.
Since Irrational got their identity back Marin are like the adrift bitch studio of 2K, quietly being run by the Weinsteins apparently.
Between this and the (
http://kotaku.com/5933119/bioshock-infinite-update-multiplayer-modes-cut-gears-maestro-joining-should-fans-worry) rumours of development troubles with Bioshock: Infinite, it seems like Irrational and its former satellite studios can't handle the corporate ownership as well as they thought they could. Three studios releasing only two games over the course of 5 years (and the second game requiring significant help from outside studios like Arkane)? 2K's money people have got to be freaking out over this.

I don't get at all why they changed the game to 3rd person. Now I'm all for sticking to the original gameplay with remakes but that box was/is already ticked with the remake of UFO. I was quite looking forward to this one regardless that it was a FPS. Hell the combat looked quite exciting if anything.
But now to see it in 3rd person has me quite disappointed.

Hoping they're just experimenting, because I'm way into the retro look.

So it's X-COM but not X-COM. Hmm.

Precisely; it's (

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. I guess that makes it officially official, then.
Shame it's a third person shooter, would've much preferred a FPS, but if it retains some of the initial concepts it could still turn out to be pretty good, imo (plus, now that Firaxis have released their version of XCOM, hopefully most people will now focus on what this game is trying to do, rather than it simply not being a TBS).

I find it a bit surprising it's coming out in August already. Can't wait though. Since it's third person, I hope they go for a bit of a Mass Effect feel to the combat, i.e. allowing you to pause and issue orders (although hopefully with AI that actually follows your orders, unlike what happens half the time in the ME games).

I'm looking forward to it.
At the very least, I'm a sucker for sci-fi games. I do hope they have some element of hub+research going on.

Same. Far preferred it as a FPS though. We already have the Firaxis one for the pure to the original style.
Better not be a buggy piece of shit (ala Colonial Marines) or all hype and turns out to be a terrible game (eg Duke Nukem Forever).
