Fix the thread title, Malf. It's officially "XCOM", not "X-COM". And the original X-COM isn't back, so really, nothing in your current title is correct.

Yeah, Malf, wtf?!? :nono:

No way - I'm really excited for this title. I'd be interested to hear your guys updated opinions after you get your hands on the article and read through the first preview.
How much do you get paid for this balls? I want your job. I mean, I spend most of my life pretending to be friends with people for free, I might as well get some money out of it. By the way, between me and you, do you know what would make this game hyper-brilliant? Visiting (

I found your blog unexpectedly fascinating.

Oh, I wish it was mine because it's awesome, but it's written by a friend who I owe some favours to (fossil bird phylogeny advice, nothing unseemly).

Dude, I think FO3 selling well had more to do with it being absolutely brilliant rather than fanboys bitching about it before it came out.
TTLG likes good games. What genre they are or platform they're on doesn't matter.
My main problem with fallout 3 besides the fact that it was basically Elder Scrolls with guns is the absolute stupidity of the ending. What, you have a robot companion with you that is immune to radiation, no you'll still have to kill yourself and walk into the radiation room. What, you have a mutant companion who's also immune to radiation, no he doesn't feel like helping you out anymore so you'll have to kill yourself and enter the room yourself.
Such an incredible insult to the intelligence of the people actually playing the game.

Your complaints abour the Fallout 3 ending were "fixed" by Broken Steel. Do your homework properly.

There is the first preview of the game in a French CanardPC magazine. Someone who got it, posted a short summary:
Quote:
I'm reading the article right now so this will be short :
- No world map : There's a USA map (with a 50s' style) for selecting the missions.
- Research & production : yes.
- Base management : yes.
- Team management : yes.
- Choice of the next missions : yes.
- No control of your teammate during the mission (in the demo, this may change)
It seems like you can goof around in your base between the mission (in first person view).
EDIT :
- The demo was running on an XBox360.
- You play as the chief of operation of the base between the mission.
- The choice of the played mission will impact the game.
- In the demo, lots of area of the base were off limits.
- During the missions you can take photos (research ?).
- The game is due for release in a little more than a year.
Here's the (
