Your complaints about the Fallout 3 ending were "fixed" by Broken Steel. Do your homework properly.
Eva, be sensible. Vanilla Fallout 3 has a shit ending. You want a good ending, you have to
pay for it.

Why should I have to play another game to fix the ending to fallout 3? Shouldn't they have just not had a shitty ending in the first place?
june gloom on 17/4/2010 at 19:43
Are you dumb? It's the same fucking game. Broken Steel just adds things to vanilla Fallout 3, such as a new ending (as well as new monsters, a raised level cap, etc.)

And? They recognised the criticisms of FO3 vanilla and addressed a lot of them in Broken Steel. Eg giving you the option to send in your ghoul or supermutant companions who're immune to radiation into the chamber; not being able to continue the game after main quest line finished; some meaty scenarios, new side quests and areas to explore - all polished, with high production values - for you to sink your teeth into.
People wanted a raised level cap, they did that. As well as supplementing that with new perks and new high level monsters to encounter in the fields.
So what is there to complain about? Were you expecting Bethsoft to give away such a significant content expansion pack for free? My God, sometimes the imaginary entitlement rights that some PC gamers feel reaches into the realm of sheer stupidity and cloud cuckoolander territory. This isn't anything like selling a MP map pack, where there is nothing but detrimental effects on the entire community and end-user experience; nor is it horse armour.
suliman on 17/4/2010 at 21:53
That's quite the straw man you've got there. Nobody is saying that Broken Steel should've been given away for free, nor is anyone saying that it's horse armor. All lunatic's been saying is that DLC should not be part of the equation when considering the quality of vanilla Fallout 3 and that the possibility of future DLC does not excuse a flaw of the original game.
Zygoptera on 17/4/2010 at 22:13
Sheesh Mr Unit, you're grumpier than a menstruating grizzly bear and make less sense.
The ending of F3 was crap, you have to pay extra to fix it by buying another product (or the GOTY). Even worse, it isn't Kotor2 style crap where it's obvious there was some mitigation, but it was designed as crap and
Bethesda knew it was crap before release but went ahead anyway because omg sacrifice is so cool who cares if it doesn't make a lick of sense. When even the developer acknowledges the crapness of their ending you know you're onto a loser even more so when you're supporting paid DLC fixing stuff which should never have made it out the door in such an obviously broken state in the first place.

- No world map : There's a USA map (with a 50s' style) for selecting the missions.
- No control of your teammate during the mission (in the demo, this may change)
Don't suppose there was any mention of things like destructable terrain/ random missions (not expecting either) or how the squad is controlled in mission?

Geez Eva & dethy, do you guys hear yourselves? Are you aware of how you twist facts to match your own extreme views? And how you pick on the smallest details if people's posts to try to disqualify the bigger point they're making? It's like everything is either totally awesome or totally shit for you guys. And the possibility that a game you deemed totally shit doing at least
something well or a game your think is totally awesome doing
something bad is unthinkable. I love FO3 to pieces but the ending wasn't good, come on! And the ending being improved by a DLC that you have to pay for is the kind of justification you wouldn't stand for if it were any other game.

My main problem with fallout 3 besides the fact that it was basically Elder Scrolls with guns is the absolute stupidity of the ending.
Well if you played the game all the way up till the ending I'm gonna go ahead and assume you still enjoyed it.

How the
fuck was any part of my post not true? Unlike Eva I never said anything re: the quality of the ending (I think it sucks fyi) or the apparent shittiness of having to pay for a new ending/more levels/etc. (I don't particularly care one way or another) so why exactly are you picking on me for this? All I did was explain how Broken Steel works to someone who seems to think it was some whole other game.
Jesus Christ, I know I tend to have extreme this-way-or-that opinions but I do recognize the good and the bad, but you're conveniently ignoring that because you (and everyone else, Eva included) would rather paint me as some sort of angry raging Heavy Weapons Guy in black turtleneck and beret because I don't care if people get pissed off.
Ulukai on 18/4/2010 at 16:56
Ho hum, this is all very hasty. I'm not sure about this latest line of reasoning.
But a beret with black turtle-neck?! Are you mental? It's not a good look for a bloke, we don't even want to imagine you in it. We all saw that particular combo in Wolfenstein and/or Die Hard 2 at some point I'm sure but that's not an excuse to bring it up again.

Dethy, the "And how you pick on the smallest details if people's posts to try to disqualify the bigger point they're making" part of my post was aimed at you. The rest of the stuff was also aimed at you but not neccessarily for things you've said in this thread.

Explaining. Insulting. It's all the same eh?
No. Lunatic96 badmouthed one of your favourite games and that just rubbed your the wrong way. And since you couldn't actually refute any of his points your chose to pick on his
wording instead.
