They release the X-Com games on Steam, 5 of them (is that all of them I'm guessing?). Are most of them good? I have never played them, but I hear a lot about them. You can buy all 5 for $13.49 so I think I'll probably get them soon.

UFO Defense is fucking awesome.

Anyone know whether these all run in Vista (32 bit)? I've heard there's some compatibility issues, which has kept me from purchasing these games so far.
Then again, I also just got the Oddworld pack; need to get around to playing those...

You have to get UFO defense if you've never played it - classic. I'm not sure how steam does it but you would probably want to use Dosbox to run it on XP or Vista.

According to the RPS write-up, Valve has assured them that all of the games bar Interceptor will work on Vista.

Vista Compatible
Quote:
Some details on what versions we put up there:
1) UFO Defense: This is the DOS-based version of 1.4. We use DOSBox
2) Apocalypse: Retail version, also running DOSBox.
3) Interceptor: version 1.2 for Windows
4) Enforcer: 1.0 for Windows
All have been tested and run fine in Vista.
TFD is still the Windows version, but I do intend to update that to use DOSBox at some point so we get Vista compatibility.

I've been meaning for a while to give Apocalypse a try.
Any opinions on Interceptor?

I'd like to try Interceptor too; I bought it twice at retail and ended up with the German version each time. :erg:

Thanks for the heads up, guys!
If I were to buy this pack now, then, would I be able to replace the non-compatible version of TFD with the one they're trying to replace it with, or should I hold out until that one is available? Does anyone know what the policies on Steam are in this regard?
Also,

According to (

And as for the German thing, I dunno - the box was English but the game was in German. That was the oddest GAME store evar.
