You can get it on Steam, but if you wanna save money, it might be better to go to Abandonia dot com and download it from there. Also be sure to have DOSBox to run it on, which is also free.
As soon as it's available for sale, its abandonware status is gone.
Please stop pimping warez sights like Abandonia, and encouraging people to steal software.

Hopefully abandonia will themselves drop the download now UFO is on steam. The more reputable abandonware sites do try to stick clear of warez. (I know there's no legal distinction, just a moral one)

I've only played Apocalypse and I had a lot of fun with it. I used turn-based combat but I've seen the real-time as well. It is interesting that a certain set of monsters is dangerous in turn-based mode (the kinds that run up and insta-kill you) while the ones that shoot are not much of a threat. In real-time mode the threat posed by the two types of aliens is reversed!
I bought the Steam package and have tried out Apocalypse and the original X-com (on Windows XP). The original runs without problems but I get some bad color artifacts with Apocalypse.

I finally took the plunge as well and bought the package at the weekend.
I've only had a brief go with the games so far, and - with the exception of TFTD - the games seem to be working perfectly on Vista (and I'm hoping the promised Dosbox version of TFTD will fix even that).
Only one question: How the f*#! do you exit a game of Interceptor?!? Couldn't find a QUIT button anywhere; had to Alt-Tab out of the game, and kill it in the Task Manager... :erg:

Or, in other words: RTFM.
Thanks.

The first X-COM game ("UFO: Enemy Unknown" or "UFO Defense", depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on) is the best, from what I've heard.
I've beat it about three or four times myself. If you've never played it before, it's definitely worth giving a try.

Abandonia voluntarily removed the link as of a couple of says ago, just FYI.
