Recently I bought a video card and I replaced it with the former one I had - MX440. Before everything worked fine. Now, since I placed my new card -XFX6200 AGP 8x (my mainboard is 4x) I experience some problems with the textures in Thief 2. All textures contain huge pixels and there is no smooth transition from one color to another. I was wondering whether I have problems with the incompatability between Thief 2 and XFX6200 or I have problems because of my mainboard's AGP BUS.
BTW Thief 1 works perfect, as well as Deadly shadows.
There's a screenshot and you cans see the strange textures I get.

Well, the crappiness of the sky in that screenshot is a problem with the way Geforce6 and newer cards handle transparency - it occurs to all semi-transparent objects, but shows up most noticeably in the clouds. There's no known solution unfortunately, as it seems particular to the hardware rather than the driver version.
However, besides that I don't see what you mean about huge pixels and no smooth transitions - is this a problem that affects regular walls and objects as well as the sky? Could you post more screenshots to elaborate?

The water and the model skins look fine (or rather, they look how I would expect them to look on a different card) but the rest all are clear symptoms of the Geforce6 Just Plain Ugly Transparency syndrome.

Have G6200...looks about the same. It's a case of "it is what it is.":erg:

strange, i've been trying to find something on the old intertron about this, but i'm not getting anything.
could it be something involving transparent-AA?

Ok, is there anything I can do. I really can't work like this. I can't use the full potential of Dromed, just because everything looks disguisting. Do you guys just accept it and work with the crappy textures and effects?
