So why don't you just go shove a pineapple up your urethra you smug, condescending motherfucker.
Ironically, that sounds almost exactly like a line from one of Yahtzee's videos. :p

Did you ever think that your hearing is probably not best served by having a deathpipe that goes BOOM around? I assume you shoot/test/practice with it at some point.
What the heck does owning a firearm necessarily have to do with hearing loss? That's makes about as much sense as saying that if someone owns power tools, or a nice stereo system, they will automatically have worse hearing than the average person. The only people who might damage their hearing with guns are soldiers who are in an actual war zone, or dumbass rednecks who take potshots at passing road signs from their truck. Everyone I know who shoots uses the proper ear protection while doing so.

Oh, another opinion war.
It's like people throwing around reasons for why they liked Seinfeld or Frasier or The Simpsons. You might like the shows for the exact same reasons why someone else hates them.
Actually, let me use a more recent example: Russell Peters. The man can rape the shit out of any race/creed/ethnic division you care to name, including my own, and I freaking love how he does it.
Other people, on the the other hand, might find it crass and insulting. Or just plain boring, and 'meh'. That's people for you.
So you got an opinion? Fine, buddy. I'll listen to you. Just don't force it down my throat, is all.

Assuming that one is a native English speaker, the only excuse for not enjoying Yahtzee is heartbreakingly crippled intelligence and/or a diamond monofilament broomstick wrapped in barbed wire lodged permanently up your arse.
Or it could just be that 'Yahtzee' is a one trick pony who's novelty wore off after the first couple 'reviews'.
If you are into that kind of thing then so be it, but you can't fault others for having grown tired of his schtick.
Honestly, yahtzee could quit and some long time listener could take his ball and run with it, it's that formulaic.

dethtoll has a hearing impairment of some kind that affects his ability to understand Zero Punctuation reviews because Yahtzee speaks very quickly.
dethtoll would also like to own a gun (deathpipe), at least in part for protection.
I am suggesting that since guns tend to make loud noises when fired, and that owning one for protection would likely necessitate practice shooting to a. maintain one's skill with said firearm and b. to ensure it is functioning, dethtoll has perhaps not made the wisest of choices in wishing for a firearm.
In case you were not aware; loud noise is linked to hearing loss. This does, indeed, need to be a sustained exposure but given the importance of hearing it might not be prudent to expose oneself at all.
Ok?

It doesn't. You're the first one to brainfart the word "necessarily". If you bothered to read my post (and if you are, contrary to demonstrations so far, able to understand it) I said that a person with a pre-existing hearing impairment "is probably not best served" by having a gun that goes BANG around. Of course ear protection will ameliorate the situation. Tools and stereos? Well, I never mentioned it but now that you mention it, yes, sustained exposure to loud sounds from these or any other device may affect hearing. I haven't suggested that the use or ownership of these devices should necessarily affect hearing though, in fact I'm quite sure I never said anyone would "automatically" have anything. I shall though, just for you because you will, of course, continue to provide us with that same old automated dross.

Whilst I suspect there is some truth to this it's my experience that even in cases of seemingly simple requirements for emulation some flavour or essence, some je ne se quoi, is invariably lost.

Not really, but based on your tone and misconceptions about guns, I'm assuming you either have a.) never owned or used a firearm or b.) live in some crazy totalitarian state where owning one is considered a bad thing. Or possibly c.) live in some third world nation that hasn't discovered hearing protection.
No, I don't own guns but I don't really understand the animosity some people have towards them either.

Are we getting a little sidetracked on purpose here guys? I throw in one comment amongst the morass and you pounce on it like some lifeline. It's hilarious.

I just responded because I had/have no idea of what you were getting at. It just seemed like a completely random attack at dethtoll for no apparent reason, really.
