Your hearing issues have nothing, I repeat NOTHING, to do with your gun rights. At all. And I've clearly stated that I'm aware that only sustained noise will affect hearing, AND that ear protection will prevent this anway.
It was an off the cuff remark, not really meant to be significant, in amongst the discussion about Zero Punctuation. Get over it. I love the way you waded in being an ass after I just asked you a simple question and have now latched onto this small point rather than admit that you freaked out.

His whinging and whining may be good enough for the odd chuckle here and there, but generally it's just very, very meh.
Your perception of Yahtzee's schtick as whinging and whining is hilariously inappropriate, if anything his schtick is to obtusely and exagerratedly point out a games flaws for the general amusement of his audience (with as many cursewords and obscure non-sequiters as possible) while overall giving it a "you should play this" or "dont fucking dare you're contributing to the downfall of all games", which I think is a worthwhile effort in an industry flooded with bullshit reviews that often boil down to some meaningless score or ridiculous nitpicky particulars in a review. At least the guy can be witty on occasion.
As for the rest, dethtoll I thought more of you than to degrade down into a bitching fest with someone like Subby, and Subby, for the love of jesus titty fucking keeerist, can you not see that you become a parody of yourself by getting defensive, bitter and petty than being all HAY GUYS I'M JUST MAKING THE JOKES I GET JOKES WHY R U MAD LOL all in one thread. For all the shit that's gone down between us, take this from the heart (I SAY THIS WITH WELL MEANT INTENT AND I DON'T LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE REPEATEDLY FAIL TO UNDERSTAND INTERNET AND I'M BEING NICE HERE OKAY) just STOP FUCKING POSTING when you get into some retarded back and forth argument with someone, you're like a cuddly bear version of Std I swear to fucken god. And by that I mean, even WHEN YOU ARE TOTALLY CORRECT, you still come off like an arse because of the way you handle things.

You know what Scots, I don't like to get into this sort of nonsense and I can totally see how it is fagging the thread up. But I'm consistently as amazed at your assessment of dethtoll (like he is normally sensible or something) as I am at his total freakouts. It just comes down to this again and again - no one (not least dethtoll) is prepared to look at the start of the bitchfest and think "hmmm, did I just freak out over nothing here?". It was a QUESTION ffs!
DO YOU NOT LIKE TO WATCH YATZHEE BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE HIS STYLE OR IS IT BECAUSE YOU CANNOT HEAR HIM PROPERLY?
Seriously, TTLG really does suffer from a rash of fools and strawman pouncers these days. I suppose I'm just going to end up leaving because I can't be bothered with these twits. We've always been a twitchy bunch but lately it's almost impossible to NOT get into an argument with someone because of some confusion or misconstruing.

So what? Whatever his intentions may be in his reviews, they still come across as whinging and whining - to me, at least.
I'm glad you're enjoying them, but to me the general emotions they evoke are  and :bored:.

That's the whole thing, N'Al, your assessment is so far from what it is that it's purely something in your camp about being unable to process that kind of humour. If you said you didn't it funny, fine, that's one thing but saying that it's "whinging and whining" like it's someone just sitting complaining, well, that's just wrong. I don't care though, so let's not waste anymore time discussing why you don't like it and I do.
Subby, last comment on this note as I'm not terribly interested in continuing it, but I know where you're coming from but in effect it's the net equivalent of this comic
Inline Image:
http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/duty_calls.pngand that's just a collosal WASTE of fucking TIME, but my previous comments stand also - your position often reduces to absurdity
as for dethtoll, he can be a funny bastard on occasion, which is why I give him a pass when he gets in retarded spats but that's how I'm feeling today with my TTLG ELITE RATING CRITERION
And for the people criticising ZeroPunctuation, I'm not defending him saying he's some laugh a minute rioutous gag factory, in fact I don't really LOL (for reals) at much of his stuff but it's an amusing little 5 minute diversion once every so often that I welcome because it's something a little different for the game industry.

Yeah, I know you're right. It just means there is less possibility of discussion up in here anymore and resorting to ignoring or just "STFU dolt" responses will soon become de rigueur. And you do, of course, realise that some of my longer ramblings are borne out of boredom and are just taking the piss when the torpid come out of the woodwork , right?
As to your assessment of ZP, I'm pretty much in agreement. Come on guys, at least it's different. In other news - GTA 4 has been given 10/10 by 2 official 360 mags. iyswim.

Not to be horribly on topic, but there are two things about his review that I don't fully understand. 1.) The supernatural thing isn't particularly new. While it's true that you don't have supernatural powers yourself in the first game, if you play the entire thing it's pretty obvious that a.) the entire plot is grounded in the supernatural and b.) your character is probably going to have supernatural powers in a sequel. 2.) The reasons for what's going on is explained in the beginning? Wasn't everything already explained pretty clearly in the previous game?
Edit: In regards to the ability to have discussions on this board, there's an entire thread dedicated to ripping on Charlton Heston for both supporting civil rights and the second amendment. Which is weird, because those two things aren't contradictory (unless you live in some weird world where Republican/Democratic politics actually reflect logical thought in any way), but I fear attempting to bring that up in the relevant thread.

If dethtoll was completely deaf, you'd have a point. But he isn't, So for the love of god and all his little elves, shut up.

So, anyone here plays Yahtzee's games before the Zero Punctuation fame?
I played 5 Days a Stranger, thought it was very well done, bought 7 Days a Skeptic - and back then he sent a little thank you e-mail to everyone. Now the poor guy gets a million e-mails a day.
Never played the sequels. I meant to someday.
SubJeff on 19/4/2008 at 14:47
I've played 5 days a bit. I mean to go back too - they are highly rated.
