It sounds good to me as well. :)
I was under the impression that everything in T3 was all new content. In Pavlock Prison there are some ambients of prisoners crying in the distance. Many of them such as the screams are new, but the crying sounds are the same as some from Cragscleft.

No, they also reused a few familiar sounds, like IIRC the loot pickup sound.

I believe the loot sound was different, more copper-like iirc. What remained were the lock picking sounds and of course the music (Hammer choirs, the deep Keeper pulse etc.).
But the puppets were the same in Yandros' track and in Sliptip's video. That clockwork-wind-up noise makes me prick up my ears.

I like this a lot, Yandros. Very good creepy, Thiefy atmosphere here. So, when do we get more than the Excerpt?

I've hit a wall currently where Audacity won't play Mortified at the moment on my PC. I think I added too many tracks and my ancient PC just can't process all the audio simultaneously; I watched it in Task Manager and the RAM usage went up to 432MB and then froze, and the audio playback stutters horribly. I'm going to fire up my son's old PC tomorrow, as it is a little more powerful, and is currently just sitting on the shelf. Or I may just finish it on his new one, which is blazing fast. The work I have planned for thiefy ambients shouldn't require as many tracks as this one does, so hopefully this won't be a recurring problem.

If you want more RAM I've got two 512MB sticks that aren't doing anything :cheeky:

Heh, that would be great (I only have 256MB total in this PC), but I'll be switching PCs or buying new soon. I managed to get a new version completed this morning on the son's new PC (Audacity ran like butter on it), the first I would call possibly final. It's going to my two reviewers shortly.

Ouch, these days 256 is not enough at all!:eww: Less of course your system was built for 256 (windows 98, pentium 2 or 3?) I'd recommend at least 1 gig of ram.:) But that's cool that you can use your son's computer. Let me ask, does he let you or do you force him off?:sly:

I'm nice enough to do it when he's not using it. :)

Ok, here's the semi-final release of
Mortified.
Inline Image:
http://forums.eidosgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif The length is 7:42 but for some reason as soon as I start playing it in WinAmp it reverts to 6:38 (the duration of the previous version). It works properly in WMP so I don't know if it's the file itself, an issue with WinAmp or something else on my system.

Taonside: Mortified (192k)
Thanks to Random_Taffer and SlipTip for offering feedback as I was working on it. I'll be posting it to my MySpaceMusic page tonight, I can't access it from work.
Samples are taken from the movie
The House On Haunted Hill (1999), the songs "Regression" (1999) and "The Glass Prison" (2002) by Dream Theater, and of course Thief 3. Many of the T3 sounds are reversed.
If anyone wants higher quality (320k) let me know and I'll put it up tonight, but it's almost twice the size.
Guess I'd better get back to work on DP2... :o
