He should also remove a bunch of other missions. Stock-derived resources have been used long before TDP 20th Anniversary Contest.

they included dromed to games to make missions so its ok to make a free fan missions, its not like they added dromed for the person to import all textures to make a fan mission.

The only thing legal here is the right to have delusional opinions and false sense of authority, on this and other matters.
Even the NewDark is illegal itself, so why bother calling resources "legal", when it can be called "allowed by contest hosts" at best.
skacky on 28/3/2019 at 06:42
Because it's legal in relation to the contest's rules, not legal in the broad sense. Come on, you're much smarter than this.

GOG and Steam are selling NewDark TG/T2 and they are not afraid of Judith. They have a rights department, that's for sure.

My question is if Looking Glass Studios works are public domain or there is any license allowing it.

Judith, have you ever heard the term "fair-use"?
It's true we had no official permission to use LGS ressources or exploit the licence but modding is not illegal at the moment no creation have been made for commercial purposes and the original authors has been clearly identified. This is the reason every missions and ressources have a copyright section. Eidos have the right to refuse a fan-made content if it's doing some harm to their business by preventing them to earn money or gaining money on their back which is obviously not the case for Thief resources or even stock derived resource since it's 100% free.
So I know in some countries the Fair-use is not written in the laws but modding is still tolerated in those since it's harmless and keep the game alive so no player forgets about it then there are still people who will buy the game.
I repeat : fair-use, non-commercial creations, and quoting the names of those who owns the franchise. Then we're not doing illegal activities, at worst just "tolerated" activites.
If Marzec wants to host resources, he just have to take a look on the laws within his country if necessary but it should normaly be ok if he respects the three things I just quoted.
