I agree with Horizon. This same thing happened to Might and Magic IX. Such a shame.

Folks, I was somewhat dissapointed as well, but how many times have you heard some pundit stating that TDS shouldn't be canon, that it ruined the series, blah, blah, blah.
Meanwhile, I feel that we should be grateful that it was made at all.
Is it the weakest of the three? Maybe so. Lots of interesting ideas that got botched due to the xbox implementation, true.
But it's still Thief. Even with the blue shadows...;P

Honestly, I LIKE the blue (of course I am biased because it's my favorite color). Which is why in my original post I specified that I did not want to tweak out the atomic blue.
And I don't hate TDS one bit, it is the first one I played after all. I just don't like the comparison in the control functionality, and a few other things that I have come to realize by playing the first two games...

And back around to the original topic: I agree with you, kamyk. The controls are most definately not as responsive in TDS as they were in TDP/TMA; a fault of the body-awareness mechanics they incorporated.
... but I already said that, didn't I?

And do you guys think that this attempt might help your controls?
(

(And I said "attempt" because you might want to read the entire 2-page message before jumping into it, too quickly?) :erm:

my sister's crappy T2 FM >> TDS
It may be worse than T1/2 (definitely not worse than your sister's crappy T2 FMs though :) ), but it's better and more involving than most of high-budget wide popular games out there like Doom3, or Riddick, or Splinter Cell for example. Great story, atmosphere, few of the best missions in the whole series (Cradle, Moira's Mansion). As a separate game it's well worth 90% I think.

Yeah! I tried to force on me this game several times, but somhow I couldn't. :( I liked all the games of this series, but this was definitely the worst one.

Too many TDS haters sometimes. Makes a man a mite nervous.
Nah, I like TDS well enough. I never thought it would be like the originals. I knew it would be consolized and had doubts about the robustness of the engine. But I had fun and never expected my life to change.
I'm just a bit of a shit disturber when it comes to trivial things like game preferences. (360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii, etc. Only on the internets.)
PS: my sister doesn't even know about Thief, as far as I know.
