I have a problem with Thief 3, I haven't been playing for long, I read a walkthrough and am stuck on Killing Time, well, I can't get into the mission. I purchased my climbing gloves (which can only go up and down) and I need to climb the wall to get onto this pipe. Annoyingly, I can't get into the pipe, my character doesn't land on it, or just goes straight through.
I dunno, I might have an old version that needs to be patched or something. But it annoys me when I land and lose a load of health.
Edit: Doesn't matter, someone had been fiddling with the controls.

Check your version at the Title Screen, current it 1.1 - it shouldn't make a difference, I don't think.
When I first got to this point, I had a problem with slipping of the pipe after letting go from the wall, it took a little getting used to re-positioning yourself so you don't fall as soon as you move, it's just a matter of lining yourself up with the pipe before dropping from the wall.
I wonder if anyone else ever had a similar issue, though . . .
