You can destroy them just by landing on them too hard or shooting an arrow at them. This has blown my mind.

Yup, I keep doing that in my EP demo mission.
The sad thing is that they just vanish with a smashing sound, and don't leave flinders behind - leaving you wondering what exactly happened.

Just which object are you referring?

In Lord Bafford's Manor, if you go to the room with the vase and the golden plate, the vase is what nicked is referring to. And yes, it's possible to smash those vases, but only in Thief 2. You can also destroy them with your sword.

Um, what object in the hierarchy?

The treasure vases (TrVase) under Household > Dish > vase.

OK. So what happens to your loot stats count if you destroy it?
nicked on 24/11/2016 at 08:01
It reduces your total - you can still get 100% loot according to the endgame stats screen, but it won't be 100% of what you placed in the level.

I've always had to be careful around those cases because I'd rather pick them up than to smash them. The small blue vases can be broken too if they are hit hard enough or thrown down a stairway.

I can't remember the FM now, it's the one where the monster that is invisible finally comes out to play in a manor near the end. I found I can smash that loot because the monster was attacking me next to a display with the loot and my sword hit it instead. This was funny to find out so late. Also, when I realized that thief2 spotlights (SpotLightPoint) to use in attachments needed a shape so they put in a invisible/nonrendered shovel.
