I can't find the old thread but last year (and the year before) I was looking forward to (
http://www.guitarrising.com/) Guitar Rising. Essentially Guitar Hero, for real, I thought that this was what we should have had instead of Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Ok, Guitar Hero is fun and not everyone wants to learn to play for real but the potential for learning via gaming (something I am a strong supporter of) was immense.
Guitar Rising seems to have died, unfortunately. The site hasn't been update since middle of last year and still has a "Coming in 2009" on it somewhere. Clearly not.
Now I see this thing - (

seems to be offering the same I'm not quite sure what it is. An electronic guitar that can be used as a normal guitar, plugs into every console or a PC for real playing OR use in Guitar Hero/Rock Band and which will have similar learning functions as Guitar Rising?
Its the last bit I'm most interested in but the adverts are so full of USB this and Midi that that I'm finding it hard to separate the wheat from the chaff (for me, obviously, all those other things might get you hard - for me its the learning game).
