YOU TREACHEROUS WENCHES! The other e-Communities you are part of. - by Yakoob

So the other thread about TTLG's community and how it changed over the years kinda made me curious what other e-communities people here are a part of, but I didn't want to derail so I figured I'd create a new one.
I'll start us off with my rather modest selection:
* (
http://www.gamedev.net/forum/) GameDev - a site dedicated to Game Development, with forums for pretty much all aspects from coding, through art and story, all the way to business side of things. I mostly frequent the off-topic Lounge nowadays.
* (
http://www.themesshall.net/) The Mess Hall - a site made by former Day of Defeat enthusiasts, now is full of random banter and some gaming talk.
* (
http://www.bikeforums.net/forum.php) Bike Forums - I am a fairly new member there (registered only after someone shared a link in my bicycle thread). Pretty self explanatory. Does not seem to be many gamers tho (my Skyrim thread had like a hundred views and not a single reply, sigh).
* (
http://forums.somethingawful.com/) Something Awful - alright so I dont actually have an account there, but I do tend to lurk General Bullshit on a frequent basis
I also used to participate in the (
http://forums.gamespy.com/Indices/Boards.aspx?keyalias=planetvampire) GameSpy Planet Vampire forums back in the day, but haven't really been a member; I really ought to register back at their (
http://planet-vampire.com/forum/index.php?action=forum) new forums, I remember it being a good group of people and I even recognized some TTLG names there :P
Ok, go!

The Eidos forums. I have an account there but I never post - I prefer TTLG

I'm on Bike Forums also, and just looked up your thread. I'll give you a reply on it, even though it's really late.
Like Bike Forums, TTLG and a number of other forums I'm a member of, I'm a habitual lurker. Most of the ones I'm signed up for I only pop into now and then when I need an answer. I have a pretty big interest in bicycles, so I'll poke around Bike Forums and Cycling Forums now and then- usually not the off-topic areas, though.
The only forums I lurk with any regularity are TTLG and (
http://www.instructables.com/) Instructables . I should contribute more, but I tend to put my foot in my mouth and it usually takes me forever to formulate posts and replies, which I read and re-read, then end up heavily editing and it all ends up a mess. That and I'm usually beaten to the punch if I think of something quick and witty.

Just because you are flashing the goods all over the internet Yakoob, doesn't mean the rest of us are sluts. Just something to think about.

I agree with Nicker. We all have our occasional dalliances, but you take it to some filthy extremes.

Sweet, sweet treason.
Uh, am I supposed to lie about 4chan? Come on, a Rockstar dev just spilled all the beans on GTA V, and I mean practically everything. Where else is that gonna happen? (Edit: Nah this isn't really true anymore though. I don't think I've been there for 6 months and don't really have any desire to.)

I can't speak, I'm under web surveillance.

I read (
http://fi.risingshadow.net/) Risingshadow now and then, but don't participate that much.
Union of Journalists in Finland / the freelancer division forum often has some interesting or important work-related news and discussion, so I check it daily.
Most active I'm at our own cf forums, partly for the obvious reason of being admin there, but also because there are the best conversations, lots of smart people and no trolls whatsoever :)

Forum about whatever game I'm happening to be playing at the moment.
Other than that, all my other "e-communities" are either dead or almost dead so they're not worth mentioning

I post on the (
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/) TwoPlusTwo poker forums, which is probably the best forum on the net and has much more than just poker going on.
I also post on (
http://absolutewrite.com/forums/index.php) AbsoluteWrite. Although I dare say the off-topic forums are difficult to be a part of because of how feminine/emasculating they are sometimes. They have the complete opposite tone to that of TwoPlusTwo.
And I'm a long time lurker on the Blue Jays MLB message board, with only 100 posts or so in 8-9 years.
