Your crush on Garrett? - by V. Equinox

I find Garrett's *character* attractive,
Mmm, so do I. Although I was actually disappointed that Thief 3 showed as much of Garrett's face as it did. I prefer the constant shadows, and the illusion that he can look like however we *want* him to look like... the computer graphics (I'm stuck playing it on the computer until the Xbox one I ordered comes in) can only be so good. His face acutally looks plain to me. But the voice (and his cynical little attitude) is what gets me.

This old thread again... brings back memories.

Taffer Kovitlac,
Mayhap we should consider a revival of the Garrett-Crush, should we not? I meant that in the best possible way.
Perhaps between us, a pool of loot from last night's rounds could set us up a reasonably decent-sized booth, and furnish us with Garrett-Posters, Garrett-Mugs, and similarly themed apparels.
I know the perfect spot for our little endeavour too. Right next to that pink-nosed merchant down in Stonemarket. Yes, the one who has repeatedly reported in the news about how his gold seems to keep disappearing off the counter. I have contacts who tell me that Garrett often passes that way when he wishes to venture out for a stroll.
What say you, Taffer Kovitlac?
Yours Sincerely,
L.T.

LOL!
I wonder if there really are Thief posters and whatnot out there... I'll have to look on ebay. Although I am pleased to say that Thief III for xbox is on it's way to my house right now. Even though I'm nearly done with in on PC, it'll be so much easier to get on the xbox than on my brother's computer.
Oh, if only Thief I and II were on xbox.

Taffer Kovitlac,
I eagerly await the arrival of your said merchandise to your doorstep so that you may entertain us with recounts of your exploits in the City.
Why don't we pull down a few of these City Watch posters of Garret and use that picture of him for our apparel? The Officers apparently have rendered an excellent sketch of him, and voila!
Instead of being the hunted, now, with our Garrett-Mugs, Garrett-Tshirts, Garret-Panties, Garrett-Fork and Spoons, NOBODY will have the nerve to hunt our master thief again! They will definitely DESIRE him in a different way!
Yours Sincerely,
L.T.

Alas, I haven't found a single poster on ebay related to Thief.
Seriously, if I had a large copy of his Wanted poster, I'd put that up in my room;) Great idea!

Here's the real question!
Sexier voice: Garrett, or Manny Calavera?
Inline Image:
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/wink.gifI like em both, but... Manny makes me all wiggly.

sweet crackers, that is a tough decision... even though i am a guy, i can see how both voices could seem, alluring to those of the opposite gender.. id hafta say Garrett though, even though i LOVE Grim Fandango, and end up quoting it quite often, its just that Garrett has a certain kind of ..... (dont really know how to put it) ...... i dont know, but he sounds a lot like the Reluctant Hero kind of archtype i like, a person who doesnt give a $hit about saving people, and is more concerned about himself (or herself)... Id guess id classify Garrett as a 'Badass Thief Who Doesnt Wanna Be A Hero' and Manny C. as a 'Comic Hero Who Doesnt Know He Is The Hero.' i guess i just like the badass quality of Garrett.. this is a bit off topic here, but :p i think that any1 who wants to truly have thier crap guarded and guarded well, should hire Garrett, as he is the penultimate vision of stealth, and the unseen guard, is the best kind of guard, of course, youd have to keep a watchful eye on your valuables...:sly:

shit dude, uve given me a AWESOME idea, how about we MAKE the posters, then sell them, and make money in the process!! im not half bad w/ art, and my brother sure as hell aint. with us 3 in the mix, we could b rich! or at least make some good money from those Thief fans out there who want ::unofficial:: Thief paraphinalea, T-Shirts, posters, wall scrolls (might be a bit over-the-top), etc.. Sounds both fun and profitable! keep me appraised if u have any ideas and/or if u wanna go thru w/ this, as i think i stumbled upon something here, and want to get u involved since u gave me the idea. how 'bout it?

Sounds like a great idea, but don't you have to have legal permission to do this from the creators of Thief? They must have copyrights, etc. that prevent anyone from profiting from something they own. Don't mean to rain on the parade; I'd love to have a poster/t-shirt, etc. featuring Garrett. Just don't want any taffers getting in trouble. :erm:
