Your crush on Garrett? - by V. Equinox

He broke Basso out because he "had his eye on Basso's sister." Apparently, even before the thing with Constantine and Victoria happened late in TDP, his eye was getting him into trouble.

There's a thing I don't get. Is there some reason why some thieves around here do not think Garrett has a libido of some sort? Don't dark, gruff, anti-hero males have a pinch of...what is the word...sexuality in them? sorry I can't find the right word. :p
I just don't see how Garrett would be an exception to any other male, needing the warmth of a female's arms, after a hard night's work, the only difference being that his profession is thievery.
 Maybe, being an ex-Keeper (and as we all know, Keepers' tastes tend to run rather elitist), Garrett favors women who carry the air of the upper-class - Viktoria, Basso's sister, you name it. :joke:

Too true :laff:
Anyways LittleTaffer, I never saw it as Garrett not enjoying the company of a woman. It's just that, well... let's say there's a beautiful woman who wants Garrett, and beside her a jade goblet worth 200 gold. And Garrett had to choose one. He'd choose the goblet.
Then he'd pick pocket the woman :p

I think Viktoria was Garrett's one true love. I mean, face it! Our anti-hero would only fall in love with a truly unique woman. And Viktoria was definitely all that! ;)
Otherwise, I think T-S had the right scenario.

I KNEW Garrett wasn't a selfish, thieving, cold-hearted bastard!
Unlike some other male thieves around here that I know...:sly:
*sobs and clings to Dia* You saved my day!

I'm really not digging the Garrett + Viktoria pairing mainly because. . .Garrett=human. . Viktoria=allmighty powerful terrifying tree demon
. . .hrm. . what's wrong with this picture? Even if Garrett did have feelings for her, I honestly don't see why some all-powerful plant goddess would want to have anything to do with just another silly manfool no matter how excellent a thief he is. At the end of Thief2 I can see that by then they definitely care about each other but a man and a woman feeling affection for one another doesn't automatically equal romantic love.
There's a thing I don't get. Is there some reason why some thieves around here do not think Garrett has a libido of some sort?
You may find it surprising, but not all men are interested in sex. I always figured Garrett gets most of his thrills and enjoyment from the acts of simple and challenging thieving. (borderline kleptomania, I'm thinkin'.)
(and whenever he did want sex I figure he'd go for the local city hookers rather than jump into a complicated love affair)

There are days that I wonder why doesn't Garrett just get a normal, regular job at a store.
Lady Taffer, you're probably right. Our gorgeous anti-hero is...not quite right in the head...
Lady Taffer on 9/3/2006 at 09:50
Well, if he had a normal job the story wouldn't be that interesting! Oddness is what makes people fun. :cheeky:
